Postdoctoral Fellowships in Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience University of Pennsylvania The Computational Neuroscience Initiative (CNI, http://cni.upenn.edu <http://cni.upenn.edu/>) of the University of Pennsylvania seeks exceptional candidates for a CNI Postdoctoral Fellowship. Candidates with strong quantitative skills from a variety of fields including neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, physics, mathematics, and engineering will be considered. The selected Fellows will join an inter-disciplinary research environment in historic Philadelphia. CNI Fellows will be encouraged to foster collaborative research between multiple labs. The CNI supports inter-disciplinary and collaborative research at the frontier of knowledge about the brain, behavior, and the mind. We focus on systems-level approaches that integrate theory and computation with experiment. NEST User Workshop 3-4 November 2016 in Karlsruhe, Germany

Dear all! The NEST Initiative is excited to invite all NEST users and developers to the second annual NEST User Workshop on 3-4 November 2016 in Karlsruhe, Germany. The Workshop provides an opportunity for the NEST Community to meet, exchange success stories, swap advice, learn about current developments in and around NEST and spiking network simulation and application. This year, the workshop will focus on the use of spiking networks in Neurorobotics and will kindly be hosted by Forschungszentrum Informatik (FZI) in Karlsruhe, Germany, in collaboration with the Human Brain Project and Forschungszentrum Jülich. The workshop is supported by the Human Brain Project Education Office. (Apologies for cross postings) The Open Source Brain initiative (http://www.opensourcebrain.org) is looking to hire an experienced software developer to work on the web infrastructure for collaborative development of models in computational neuroscience as part of our multidisciplinary group <http://silverlab.org/> at University College London: https://goo.gl/kROHnZ This would be a great opportunity for someone who has plenty of experience with Java/JavaScript development (and a good helping of Python and/or Ruby) to get a job at the leading edge of efforts to build a truly open infrastructure for modelling and understanding the brain. Previous experience in computational neuroscience is an advantage, though excellent software development skills in a web environment and a desire to make a difference in this field are essential. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to fully participate in the academic activities related to this initiative including contributing to publications and attending scientific conferences. Post-doc position in computational cognitive neuroscience at UC Berkeley

Hello, I run the Computational Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at UC Berkeley ( https://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~acollins/) and am looking for a postdoc. *Post-doctoral research position at the CCN lab at UC Berkeley:* My lab investigates reinforcement learning, decision-making and executive functions. I’m looking to hire a post-doc interested in these topics. You should have (or be nearing completion of) a PhD in psychology, neuroscience, cognitive science, or a related field. Ideal candidates would have expertise collecting and analyzing EEG or fMRI data, experience in developmental or patient studies, or both. Experience in computational modeling is also highly desirable, and programming experience is essential. However, I welcome applications from anyone with experience and interest in RL, decision-making, or executive functions. This position can begin immediately, but the start date is flexible. Staff Scientists and Postdoctoral Researchers in Neural Data Analysis and Computational Neurosceince at the Center for Bioelectronic Medicine

The Center for Bioelectronic Medicine at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research in NY (http://www.feinsteininstitute.org/) is building a multidisciplinary team to revolutionize medicine by determining the nature of neural control over molecular, cellular and organ functions of the body, the parts of the brain that regulate those nerves, and the signals that the brain receives to monitor cell and organ function. Projects will focus on determining which nerve fibers exert control, the types of signals those fibers use, and how these signals can be manipulated to treat diseases and conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, paralysis, Crohn's disease, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, cancer and others. We are currently recruiting for Staff Scientists and Postdoctoral Researchers in the field of neural data analysis and computational neuroscience. The successful candidates will work in the Center for Bioelectronic Medicine, directed by Chad Bouton, in the Neural Decoding and Data Analytics Lab, led by Dr. Theo Zanos. The candidates will work on projects involving development of novel signal processing and machine learning methods to gain insights into: 1. Decoding and encoding mechanisms of the brain and peripheral nerves to and from stimuli, actions and other physiological functions 2. Reinforcement learning approaches used to select neural stimulation parameters and optimize outcomes 3. Beam-forming, blind source separation, and other techniques to directionally transmit or receive neural signals in peripheral nerves 4.
