Remote Machine Learning Engineer/AI researcher position at Tether Evo on NeuroAI

We are looking for a *Machine Learning Engineer* to join our team at the
forefront of *open research in NeuroAI*. Our work explores the intersection
of artificial intelligence and brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), using both
invasive and non-invasive neural recordings.
As part of Tether Evo, you will contribute to high-impact, open-source
projects focused on *encoding* and *decoding brain activity* leveraging AI.

3+ years of experience in ML research or industry, PhD in Physics,

Funded PhD Position - Using cognitive computational models to improve human-robot collaboration

Psychology Discipline and Robotics Institute at the University of Technology Sydney in Australia are offering a fully funded PhD position for interdisciplinary research into using computational models to improve human-robot collaboration.
Project description
Collaboration between humans and robots is rapidly increasing, creating a need for integrative work between engineering and psychology to improve robots' collaborative skills. One promising approach is to equip robots with cutting-edge cognitive computational models of their human collaborators' decision-making processes. These models would enable robots to account for latent factors guiding human decisions (e.g., beliefs, inferences, preferences, risk, confidence, caution), during collaborative tasks. This could enhance the efficiency of robots' observational learning and allow them to take actions that support and optimise human decision-making, ultimately improving teamwork and productivity.
The project will be supervised by Dr Milan Andrejevic, a Lecturer in Psychology, and Dikai Liu, a Distinguished Professor in Robotics from the University of Technology Sydney, and entail a collaboration with Prof. Jakob Hohwy, a Professor in Philosophy from Monash University.
Candidate requirements:
* Honours or Masters degree in: Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, and a good grasp of statistics OR Engineering, Computer Science OR other related and relevant discipline and a strong interest in psychological science;
* Willingness to learn computational cognitive modelling approaches;
* Excellent academic writing skills;
* Experience with, and/or willingness to learn coding and using statistical software (R, Matlab, Python, and/or alike);
* Demonstrated work ethic.
Also desirable:
* A record of contributing to academic publications;
* Experience with mathematical / computational modelling

We are seeking a PostDoc with a quantitative background who has finished
(or about to finish) a doctoral degree in preferably in physics but
other quantitative backgrounds will be considered. The candidate should
show enthusiasm for tackling theoretical foundations of biological
phenomena and creativity to address difficult research questions. The
researcher will be based in the Integrative Biophysics group at the
University of Konstanz and Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior,
located in Konstanz, Germany.

Dear colleagues,
I have a new PhD position in my group. We seek candidates who are interested in studying the application of machine learning tools in cognitive and neurosciences.
we seek to address key gaps in our understanding of the role of gaze-based communication in value-based decision-making in primates, specifically rhesus macaques, red-fronted Lemurs, and humans, using naturalistic, interactive scenarios. The goal is to understand how primates attribute perception to others do, based on their gazes and postures. Our approach to dealing with complex brain and behavior data from these scenarios is to use state-of-the-art machine learning tools to extract interpretable latent dynamics.
The research work will be conducted at the German Primate Center; enrollment is possible in one of the PhD programs at the University of Göttingen (see www.gauss.uni-goettingen.de<http://www.gauss.uni-goettingen.de>). The project is highly collaborative and will benefit from working with experts in computer and data sciences, behavioral ecology, and psychology in Göttingen and across Germany.
The position will be funded for 3 years from DFG (pending final approval). The salary is in accordance with the German public service salary scale (65 % E13 TV-L)

§ Master's Degree in data sciences, neurosciences, engineering, biomedical sciences, physics, or related fields.
§ Very good English skills, including scientific writing

We offer a postdoctoral researcher position in cooperation with Philips
and the University of Groningen, The Netherlands.
The position is funded by the PPS-I Flex High Tech project
“ManufActuring contRol Sonicare (MARS)“.
Due to the complexity of the assembly process anomalies can occur, that
lead to unplanned downtime and sub-optimal production outcomes.
Deviations from normal behavior have diverse causes, ranging from
misplacement, heterogeneity in material, to fatigue. Locating such
issues in the production line can be difficult and the creation of more
intelligent process control strategies and innovative methods of
tracking reliability can be achieved with expert informed machine
learning techniques, which offer more insight into possible sources of
variation, facilitating more proactive quality control.
The successful applicant has:
- a PhD degree in computer science, applied mathematics, engineering
or other relevant fields.
- a keen interest in at least one of the following topics: machine
learning, dynamic systems, applied mathematics (system identification
and/or structural identifiability), Bayesian methods
- proficiency in English (knowledge of the Dutch language is not
required).

The International Conference on Brain Informatics (BI) series has established itself as the world's premier research conference on Brain Informatics, which is an emerging interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research field that combines the efforts of Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Machine Learning, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to explore the main problems that lie in the interplay between human brain studies and informatics research.
The 18th International Conference on Brain Informatics (BI'25) provides a premier international forum to bring together researchers and practitioners from diverse fields for presentation of original research results, as well as exchange and dissemination of innovative and practical development experiences on Brain Informatics research, brain-inspired technologies and brain/mental health applications.

High-quality BI conference papers may be nominated to submit an extended version for a fast-track review and publication at the Brain Informatics Journal (ESCI, IF=4.5, https://braininformatics.springeropen.com/) an international, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary Open Access journal published by Springer Nature.

9-12 pages are encouraged for the regular papers including figures and references in Springer LNCS Proceedings format (https://www.springer.com/us/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-gu…)
Overlength pages will be charged 100€ per page.
All papers will be peer-reviewed and accepted based on originality, significance of contribution, technical merit, and presentation quality.

Abstract Submission (Only for Workshops/Special Sessions):
Research abstracts are encouraged and will be accepted for presentations in an oral presentation format and/or poster presentation format.
Each abstract submission should include the title of the paper and an abstract body within 1500 words.
Note: The abstract will not be included in the conference proceedings to be published by Springer.

Workshop organizers can be invited to contribute a book publication in the Springer-Nature Brain Informatics & Health Book Series (https://www.springer.com/series/15148) or a special issue at the Brain Informatics Journal.

BI'25 will be hosting a series of workshops and special sessions featuring topics relevant to the brain informatics community on the latest research and industry applications.
Papers & Presentations:
A workshop/special session typically takes a half day (or full day) and includes a mix of regular and invited presentations including regular papers, abstracts, invited papers as well as invited presentations.
The paper and abstract submissions to workshops/special sessions will follow the same format as the BI conference papers and abstracts.
Proposal Guidelines:
Each proposal should include:
1) workshop/special session title;
2) length of the workshop (half/full day);
3) names, main contact, and a short bio of the workshop organizers;
4) brief description of the workshop scope and timeline;
5) prior history of the workshop (if any);
6) potential program committee members and invited speakers;
7) any other relevant information.

🚀 What Is NeuroDesign in HRI?
NeuroDesign is an emerging framework that blends principles from
neuroscience, cognitive and behavioral psychology, human-centered
interactive design, and artificial intelligence to create human-robot
interactions that are not only functional—but emotionally resonant,
intuitively aligned, and cognitively engaging. It pushes beyond usability
into neuro-resonance—where robots dynamically respond to and adapt with
human intent, attention, affect, and behavior in real time.

🎤 Finalists & Presentation Format
Our selection process is on a “rolling basis”, and we aim to choose 10
projects for the final on-stage pitch presentation. We especially encourage
those who have already submitted their work as posters or papers to RO-MAN
2025 or have publications elsewhere to participate in our event. This
competition offers a fantastic opportunity to increase the visibility of
your research globally.

10 projects will be selected for on-stage 5-minute pitch presentations.

Finalists may join in person, via Zoom, or submit a pre-recorded
presentation.

All submissions (accepted or not) will be offered poster/demo space at
our venue.
-
We will print and exhibit posters for virtual participants.

🖼️💻 Exhibition and Virtual Participation
All submitted projects will receive a dedicated booth for poster and
prototype demonstrations. For participants unable to travel to RO-MAN 2025,
we will print your posters and display them on the bulletin boards at our
venue.
The event is designed to be "Hybrid" to ensure that everyone has the
opportunity to participate, regardless of their ability to travel to RO-MAN
(@ the Netherlands). A Zoom link will be provided for your virtual
participation.
