Dear researchers, We are less than two weeks away from the "Modeling Electrophysiological Activities: From Single Neuron to Nervous Tissue" Online Course, which will be held by Dr. Damien Depannemaecker, Post-Doc researcher at Department of Integrative and Computational Neuroscience, Paris Saclay Institute of Neuroscience, France (Click HERE for more information about his researches and background). During the course, we will discuss the field of application of such models. We will introduce the concepts of dynamical systems. Then we will implement these models during lab sessions. Finally, we will discuss the results of simulations in relation to the data obtained experimentally. PhD position in computational neuroscience and modeling of salamander spinal locomotor circuits, EPFL, Lausanne Switzerland

The Biorobotics laboratory (Biorob, https://www.epfl.ch/labs/biorob/ <https://www.epfl.ch/labs/biorob>) at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) has one open *PhD student position* in *computational neuroscience and modeling of salamander spinal locomotor circuits*. The position is part of the ERC Synergy Salamandra project that will start in September 2021, together with Prof. Andras Simon (KI Sweden) and Prof. Dimitri Ryczko (U. Sherbrooke, Canada). The models will be based on integrate-and-fire neuron models. The positions are fully funded for 4 years. EPFL is one of the leading Institutes of Technology in Europe and offers extremely competitive salaries and research infrastructure. *Requirements:* Candidates need to have a Master degree in a field related to computational neuroscience, e.g. in computer science, neuroscience, or physics. This year, we are organizing the 2nd edition of UNIQUE Student Symposium (USS) on new directions in #neuroscience and #AI. USS 2021 is a two-day free and open event. With a theme focus on #consciousness and #ethics, we are honored to have Dr. Megan Peters and Dr. W.F.G. Haselager (Pim) as keynote speakers on Day 1 (June 7th), followed by a panel discussion with additional speakers to be announced very soon. The first day will include a lightning talk session especially thought for students to submit their recent work or proposals. We encourage you and your students to participate! This is a great opportunity to share your work with like-minded people and sharpen your presentation skills.Day 2 (June 8th) consists of parallel educational and discussion sessions. We will host a round table on mental health, and two workshops on open science and equity, diversity and inclusion. The second Canadian Computational Neuroscience Spotlight (a free, virtual meeting) is under a week away

The second Canadian Computational Neuroscience Spotlight is now less than a week away, beginning this coming Monday, May 17 via the Crowdcast online platform. The finalized program for the meeting can be found at https://ccnsmeeting.ca/#04-ccns-2021-program. It includes 18 renowned computational neuroscientists, including keynote speakers Drs. 2nd Workshop on Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation 2021

Dear colleagues, We want to invite you to join the 2nd Workshop on Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation (NIBS) 2021! The meeting will be held *online on June 3-4*. The registration and abstract submission *deadline is the 23rd of Ma*y ( https://NIBS-Workshop.umn.edu) Non-invasive tools capable of selectively manipulating neural systems in the human brain are needed to advance our neuroscientific understanding of brain function and develop novel therapeutic strategies. The workshop includes lectures and hands-on sessions. Transcranial magnetic stimulation ( *TMS*), transcranial direct current stimulation (*tDCS*), and transcranial alternating current stimulation (*tACS*) modulate neural activity by inducing electric fields in the brain. Increasingly, these approaches are combined with computational head modeling and imaging methods such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) or electroencephalography (EEG). Over two days, attendees will hear about state-of-the-art modeling methods in non-invasive brain stimulation, their combination with imaging methods, and practical applications in clinical science.
