The Jubilee Joint Associate will undertake independent research within one or more of the following themes: * Topological structures and dynamics of brain activity on neural manifolds. * Network neuroscience and the brain as a complex system. * Computational ethology and modelling behavioural sequences. This is an exciting opportunity to start building research independence, work at the interface of two rapidly evolving fields, and collaborate with leading experts in neuroscience, biomedicine and computer science. Housed within the School of Arts & Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania, MindCORE is an interdisciplinary effort to understand human intelligence and behavior. Designed for individuals who have recently obtained a PhD degree in neuroscience, psychology, linguistics, philosophy, computer science, or other cognitive science discipline, the MindCORE Fellowship is a springboard for early researchers as they establish their own research program. Postdoctoral position in computational neuroscience methods (NEURON simulator)

The McDougal lab at Yale University seeks one or two highly motivated Postdoctoral Associates to advance the frontiers of neuroscience simulation. In addition to papers, etc, this work will be shared with the community in the form of enhancements to the NEURON<https://nrn.readthedocs.io/> simulator. Related lab projects include: combining machine learning and mechanistic modeling, multisimulation (interoperation with other tools), high-resolution simulations of subcellular chemical dynamics, and algorithm development (GPUs, initialization, performance enhancements). The Postdoctoral Associate will lead one or more of these projects and will present this work at conferences, in publications, and in the form of open-source software. Mentorship and career development opportunities will be tailored to the Postdoctoral Associate’s interests. Applicants should hold or be about to complete a PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, computer science), neuroscience, or a related field. Strong programming skills in Python and C++ are essential, as is scientific excellence as demonstrated through publication history. Experience with the NEURON<https://nrn.readthedocs.io/> simulator, in machine learning, numerical methods, and/or GPU computing is desirable, but not required. The successful candidate will join the McDougal lab (Biostatistics/Health Informatics, Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Wu Tsai Institute, Biomedical Informatics and Data Science). We are major contributors to the development of the NEURON simulator and run the ModelDB<https://modeldb.science/> model discovery platform. To do this, the group utilizes analytical methods from statistical physics, machine learning theory, and high-dimensional statistics and geometry.The CCN FRF program offers the opportunity for postdoctoral research in areas that have strong synergy with one or more of the existing research groups at CCN or other centers at the Flatiron Institute. The Bazhenov Lab at the University of California, San Diego, is currently seeking to fill a postdoctoral position to study the role of sleep in memory, learning, and forgetting. This exciting project involves close collaboration with experimental labs. The ultimate goal of the work is to advance our understanding of how the human and animal brain learns from experience and how sleep contributes to memory consolidation for recent learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing anatomically realistic biophysical brain network models based on experimental data. These models will be instrumental in uncovering network dynamics involved in memory consolidation, reconsolidation and forgetting during sleep, as well as guiding data analysis and generating innovative experimental predictions. Additionally, depending on the candidate's interests and experience, there may be opportunities to participate in other related lab projects. These projects include developing whole human brain model based on Human Connectome Project (HCP) data and mouse brain model based on the Allen Mouse Brain Connectivity Atlas. Other projects involve applying principles learned from neuroscience to artificial intelligence, focusing on areas such as continuous learning, knowledge generalization, and adaptation to novel situations and contexts. The candidate will carry out high-density multi-areal electrophysiological recordings while animals are engaged in attention-demanding visual tasks. The individual will be required to train animals, generate electrophysiological data, and perform advanced statistical data analyses and modeling in a highly collaborative research environment. Envigado is in the Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley, close to Medellín, the second-largest city in Colombia, and the capital of the department of Antioquia. Envigado is known for maintaining the traditions of the Paisa Region and for its architecture. It also has one of the highest standards of living in Colombia. Envigado was recognized recently as one of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (UNESCO GNLC). The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) is a research institution with a Ph.D. program. Outstanding graduate students and faculty are being attracted internationally. Dear all, We have funds for a two-year postdoc on Dravet syndrome modeling. This is part of an international collaboration between Inria (Bordeaux, Montpellier, Sophia Antipolis, France) and BCAM - the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (Bilbao, Spain), involving Fabien Campillo <https://www-sop.inria.fr/members/Fabien.Campillo/index.html>, Pierre Del Moral <https://people.bordeaux.inria.fr/pierre.delmoral/>, Mathieu Desroches <https://www-sop.inria.fr/members/Mathieu.Desroches/> and Serafim Rodrigues <https://www.bcamath.org/en/research/areas/m3a/mcen>. The postdoc will be based at Inria, in Montpellier. The aim of the project is to develop a multiscale model of Dravet syndrome, from ionic channels of interacting neurons to large neural populations. We will use various modeling frameworks, adapted to the scale, from piecewise-deterministic Markov processes to mean-field formalism. The postdoc will perform a mathematical analysis of the models, extensive numerical simulations as well as data analysis using neural recordings from our experimental partners.
