Dear colleagues, All details about this school can be found online at https://www.nengo.ai/summer-school The Centre for Theoretical Neuroscience at the University of Waterloo is excited to announce our 11th annual Nengo summer school on large-scale brain modelling and neuromorphic computing. This two-week school will teach participants to use the Nengo simulation package to build state-of-the-art cognitive and neural models to run both in simulation and on neuromorphic hardware. Summer school participants will be given on-site access to neuromorphic hardware and will learn to run high-level applications using Nengo! More generally, Nengo provides users with a versatile and powerful environment for designing cognitive and neural systems and has been used to build what is currently the world's largest functional brain model, Spaun, which includes spiking deep learning, reinforcement learning, adaptive motor control, and cognitive control networks. PhD position in computational neuroscience (event-based computing / spiking networks) As part of a Marie-Curie Doctoral Network (ELEVATE <https://www.elevate-dn.eu/index.php/about/>), we are offering a PhD student position. The proposed project sits a the interface of computational neuroscience and neuromorphic computing, and is embedded within a strong network of European academic and industrial partners. ENVIRONMENT: The student will be part of the Theoretical Neuroscience lab <https://www.machenslab.org/>, led by Christian Machens, which is hosted at the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown in Lisbon, Portugal. The Champalimaud Foundation <https://www.fchampalimaud.org/> is a private, non-profit institute with a vibrant and highly international academic community. Many groups work in the field of systems and computational neuroscience, <https://www.fchampalimaud.org/champalimaud-research> providing a stimulating and exciting work environment. The student will also interact with the training network ELEVATE <https://www.elevate-dn.eu/index.php/about/> and spend several months at Rodolphe Sepulchre <https://sites.google.com/site/rsepulchre/>‘s lab at KU Leuven, Belgium. PROJECT: Across the animal world, biological networks are made up of different types of neurons. The most prominent division is that between excitatory (E) and inhibitory (I) neurons. However, modern AI system as well as most neuromorphic systems ignore this division and assume only one type of neuron. In this project, we will study the specific functional or structural qualities arising from a division into E and I neurons, and work out any potential benefits. One key design feature of networks with E and I neurons is that they are composed of intrinsically unstable subsystems, namely recurrently connected E neurons, that are controlled and stabilized by other subsystems, namely I neurons. The benefits of designing and controlling intrinsically unstable systems have long been known to engineers in other context, e.g., the desing of modern fighter aircraft. The goal of this project is to use some of these engineering insights in order to investigate how the interplay of excitation and inhibition can be utilized to perform specific computations. Since real neurons communicate with discrete events (spikes), a key aim is to work out the distinct computational roles of inhibitory and excitatory spikes, and apply the concepts to a few example systems. TASKS: * Study the relevant background literature from both engineering and neuroscience fields. Based on geometric and analytical insights from the framework of ‘spike coding networks’, develop analytical or geometric methods to study the roles of excitatory and inhibitory spikes. Develop a few canonical systems and use numerical simulations to demonstrate the role of excitatory and inhibitory populations in computational tasks. * Publish research articles, regular participation in top international conferences to present your work. * Complete an internship at KU Leuven with Prof. Rodolphe Sepulchre * Participate in yearly retreats organized by the doctoral network participants * Support the dissemination of software tools and concepts. SALARY AND CONDITIONS: The salary and benefits will follow standard EU rules. PhD students will receive their degree from the NOVA University of Lisbon. First is history. RL was the basis of AI long before the term AI was introduced in 1956. The first machine learning (ML) systems were based on RL even before digital computers existed. Despite notable early successes of ML based on RL, RL essentially disappeared from ML until relatively recently. A second reason for renewed interest in RL is the clarification of some misunderstandings that have been prevalent in the ML community. A third, and most important, reason for this resurgence is that new, or rediscovered, algorithms and connections to well developed mathematical and engineering methods have been worked out. The El-Boustani Lab at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) is looking for a highly motivated PhD student and Postdoctoral fellow to research the plasticity mechanisms underlying the learning of goal-directed sensorimotor associations in mice. This project involves whole-brain mappings, two-photon calcium imaging of neuronal populations, as well as dendritic spine imaging in mice during the acquisition of perceptual decision-making tasks. Genetically encoded tools will be used to dissect the circuits that contribute to the learning of these tasks, and state-of-the-art behavioral modeling will help infer the timescale and nature of synaptic plasticity. Successful applicant will contribute to a research program focused on understanding how changes in specific sensorimotor synapses underpin the acquisition of new associations. We welcome applicants with diverse quantitative backgrounds, including but not limited to neuroscience, mathematics, physics, and engineering. Some of the scientific questions that motivate our work are - How do different regions of the brain interact to learn new motor skills? - What are the principles that enable brains and artificial agents to learn efficiently from experience while minimizing forgetting? - How can models of learning and motor control be synthesized across different levels of description? Our research group aims at building mechanistic models of brain function grounded in a combination of theoretical approaches, neural network-based simulations, and machine-learning analysis of experimental data. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with a large network of experimental collaborators at University of Oregon and at other institutions with expertise in sensory processing (visual, auditory, and olfactory), motor control, naturalistic behavior, neural engineering, and brain-computer interfaces. While previous experience in computational neuroscience and machine learning are welcome, applicants from other quantitative fields (e.g. math, physics, statistics, computer science) who are eager to learn about neuroscience are encouraged to apply as well. The postdoc will be based at Aix-Marseille University, at the Institut of Systems Neuroscience <https://ins-amu.fr/> in Marseille and will work under the lead of Spase Petkoski, INSERM CR (tenured researcher, equivalent to an Associate Professor), part of the Theoretical Neuroscience group led by Viktor Jirsa. A close collaboration is also envisaged with the clinical practitioners from the Neurology department of the public hospital at Marseille (APHM), the neurologists Mira Didic and Olivier Felician who work with patients with dementia, as well as with JF Mangin, the head of neuroimaging at Neurospin in Paris. As a postdoctoral researcher, the candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing computational models for the molecular mechanism of pathological proteins in AD into the whole-brain neuroinformatics platform The Virtual Brain <https://www.thevirtualbrain.org/tvb/zwei/> (TVB). Specifically, this will be done through glutamatergic and GABAergic synapses, utilizing existing neuronal mass candidates from the literature and from the previous work by the group. The model will also combine the mechanisms of prion-propagation. The modeling work will be accompanied by resting-state fMRI data analysis to identify the biomarkers of interest. The main cohort for the project will be Memento <http://www.memento-cohort.org/>, but ADNI3 <https://adni.loni.usc.edu/data-samples/adni-data/> will be also used. The candidate is thus expected to be familiar with concepts from Nonlinear Dynamics, in particular, solving and analyzing coupled ordinary differential equations. In the later stage, the project will also require an application of model inversion with simulation-based inference that should facilitate establishing links between the model parameter space and the neuroimaging data features. The latter will be a key component of this project and will also require addressing issues related to model degeneracy and resilience. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team developing models and methodologies for better explanation of neuroimaging data. This work has a broader impact than AD, it will establish an interpretable link across scales from synapses to neuronal populations (the network nodes in TVB), and significantly amplify the effectiveness of TVB in comprehending multiscale effects within brain networks. This, in turn, will facilitate the enhanced usability of digital twins in the clinical context and in diagnosing brain health status. *Open Rank Faculty Position in **Artificial Intelligence in Psychological Science* *Position Description* The Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is accepting applications for a tenure system position for a faculty member whose work interfaces with artificial intelligence (AI). Candidates with postdoctoral training or equivalent research experience are preferred, especially those who have led or contributed to multidisciplinary teams bridging psychology with computer/data science. We welcome profiles spanning: (a) ML/AI as advanced statistics; (b) core AI/generative technologies; and (c) computational social science. Strongest consideration may be given to applicants who apply modern AI pipelines and tooling to substantive psychological questions. Most of the models were able to survive in the proposed environment for quite a long time, and one entry used the optimal decision strategy, with only 22 neurons (out of 1000 available). The challenge is still running with a new task (cued decision, which might be simpler) and a new agenda (you have two months). You'll find instructions at https://github.com/rougier/braincraft the rules for the new task. Reminder: you have have 1000 neurons (leaky rate models), 100 seconds of training time and 10 runs for evaluation. The difficulty comes from the imposed constraints. This was for good scientific reasons. First, there was a drive to isolate individual causes of behaviours and therefore to carefully control the environments in which children behaved during a study. Moreover, the equipment required to assess the neural correlates of behaviours were cumbersome and difficult to move so children's mobility had to be restricted. Recent developments in wearable and wifi-enhanced technologies have now allowed us to literally "untether" children and explore their brain and behaviour as they move around and interact naturally. This has opened new avenues for research, but has equally revealed important new challenges to the way that we approach developmental sciences. In this seminar, I will draw on my lab's recent work on children's sensory cue integration, neural synchrony during children's collaborative problem solving and the trials and tribulations of translating basic cognitive neuroscience research into real-world effective classroom interventions to highlight some of the challenges that contemporary developmental sciences faces. Short Bio: Professor Denis Mareschal is Director of the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development, at Birkbeck University of London, and a founding member of the Centre for Educational Neuroscience. After completing a BA in Natural Science at Cambridge, he moved on to studying learning -- initially in the form of an MA in Psychology and Artificial Intelligence at McGill in Montreal, Canada and then through completing a DPhil in Psychology at Oxford. Professor Mareschal's research has focussed on identifying the mechanisms of learning and development in infancy and childhood through the combined use of behavioural studies, computational modelling and neuroimaging. He has received a number of awards for his work, including the Marr Prize from the Cognitive Science Society, the Young Investigator Award from the International Congress on Infant Studies and the Margaret Donaldson Prize from the BPS Developmental Section. Over the last 10 years he has led the UnLocke project (Unlocke.org) developing a neuroscience-based primary school maths and science education intervention. He is committed to taking neuroscience out of the lab and into the real-world, in terms of primary research and in terms of translational impact. This position is part of a new cluster of faculty positions in Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and the Brain and Cognitive Sciences supported by the Simons Foundation. We seek to hire scholars who develop computational theories and models to deepen our understanding of the brain in real-world, complex, or naturalistic contexts, or to understand collective decision-making and communication in groups of individuals. Researchers who develop and test computational models across levels of representations (from the brain to the mind) are particularly welcome to apply. Dear Colleague In 1995 Mainen and Sejnowski published a striking result showing neurons in mammalian neocortex are capable of producing precise, reliable spike trains in response to fluctuating inputs. This work inspired sustained inquiry into the role of spike timing in sensory, motor and cognitive processes, including learning and memory, as well as theoretical investigations into neural coding, plasticity, and the mechanisms of precise spike timing. In recognition of the 30th anniversary of this seminal paper, Biological Cybernetics invites submissions to a special article collection on the topic “Neuronal Spike Timing: Precision, Reliability, and the Neural Code from 1995-2025.” Whether you have contributed to past research in this area and would like to write a retrospective review, or if you are actively pursuing new research building on spike timing, we encourage you to submit an article to this collection. *NITMB is seeking early-career researchers who have interest in transforming biological research and inspiring new mathematical discoveries. * This opportunity is open to researchers who want to develop mathematical, theoretical, and computational approaches to study any area of biology. NITMB Fellows conduct independent research programs, in collaboration with NITMB faculty members or others outside the Institute, focused on developing new mathematics and statistics relevant to challenges in biology. Hello! We are happy to announce our first workshop of the new academic year! This time we will teach you how to use the *Bonsai* reactive programming language. Many experiments require us to synchronize multiple data streams— from cameras, sensors, microscopes—precisely deliver stimuli, and, quite often, do everything in a *closed-loop* setting. The fact that different devices use different software doesn’t make this task easier. One of the best—and open—solutions to these challenges is *Bonsai*, a reactive programming language that allows you to collect data from multiple systems, from calcium imaging through sound recordings to sensors, and to control output devices—such as feeders, motors, or stimulus delivery systems—to build *closed-loop* paradigms. It is easy to learn, implement, and is robust. During our workshop, we will introduce the basic logic of Bonsai; cover loading and saving data; working with a camera to track animals; and the basics of closed-loop experiments. We will also cover using Arduino alongside Bonsai to control experimental equipment and to save data from your sensors. *Requirements:* A Windows computer and a webcam. Introduction It is widely accepted that synaptic plasticity constitutes the cellular correlate of learning. Yet, synaptic plasticity alone is insufficient to fully account for learning. Other mechanisms, such as intrinsic plasticity of membrane excitability, have been shown to be necessary for memory formation. Still, it remains unclear how intrinsic plasticity contributes to memory encoding and alters cognitive processes. In this project, we will leverage the advanced voltage imaging in larval zebrafish to investigate how intrinsic plasticity reshapes neuronal behavior. 4. Your Job In this project, you will contribute to both engineering and neurobiology. First, you will help build a light-sheet microscope optimized for voltage imaging at the single-cell and subcellular level in live larval zebrafish (1). The development of this system will be supported by Dr. Emmanuel Marquez Legorreta↗, Dr. Ernest van der Wee↗, and the Biology Image Center↗ team. Once the microscope is established, you will use it to investigate the electrophysiological properties of cerebellar Purkinje cells with advanced voltage indicators such as Voltron2. The ultimate goal is to uncover how Purkinje cells alter their dendritic signaling and spiking characteristics under different sensory or chemogenetic conditioning paradigms, and to determine how these changes may be mediated through intrinsic plasticity or brain state. Ideally, the candidate should have a master degree in physics but other quantitative backgrounds will be considered. The researcher will be based in the Integrative Biophysics group at the University of Konstanz and Max Planck Institute of Animal Behaviour, located in Konstanz, Germany. The group focuses on a diverse set of theoretical biophysics problems. The doctoral project is a collaboration between the integrative biophysics research group and the research group of Prof. Ilya Nemenman at Emory University, Altanta, US. The doctoral student will have the opportunity to have research stays at Emory University. The project summary is as follows: *Project Title*: /Inferring dynamical interactions in social groups/ *Project Abstract*: Social interactions are one of the most foundational building blocks of group behaviors, shaping decision making strategies across ecologies. Social groups consist of small number of individuals in contrast with collectives that consist of large number of agents. Despite the importance of social groups as a building block of living systems, there is little understanding of mechanistic details of the nature of those social interactions and how they shape emergent social functional properties. This stands in contrast with physics of collectives, which usually focus on the dynamics of very large group of individuals and have been thoroughly studied. In an experimental sys-tem or in field observations tackling social behaviors, we do not know a priori the social forces, nature of those interactions and their dynamics. Recent advances in software and hardware allow us to track the behavior of multiple individuals over extended spatio-temporal scales. Thus it is crucial to develop methodologies to infer dynamical social interactions and social forces from experimental observations. This relates closely to work done inferring "social forces" from dusty plasmas. Recent theoretical work has developed an information theoretic approach to estimate intrinsic motivation, based on maximizing an agent's empowerment (defined as the mutual information between its past actions and future states). This approach can be used to study social behaviours, where individuals choose actions without an explicit reward signal. In this project, we are planning to apply this framework to infer and understand social behaviour of small animal groups specifically locusts, mice and marmosets monkeys offering not only a mechanistic insights into mechanisms of social organization but also make quantitative evolutionary comparison of social behaviours. *Relevant publications:* 1. The mission of CCN is to develop theories, models, and computational methods that deepen our knowledge of brain function. This cross-disciplinary approach not only leads to the design of new model-driven scientific experiments, but also encapsulates current functional descriptions of the brain that can spur the development of new engineered computational systems, especially in the realm of machine learning. In addition to carrying out an independent research program, FRFs are expected to: disseminate their results through scientific presentations, publications, and software release, collaborate with other members of the CCN or Flatiron Institute, and participate in the scientific life of the CCN and Flatiron Institute by attending seminars, colloquia, and group meetings. Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to announce this year’s application cycle for The Shanahan Foundation Fellowship at the Interface of Data and Neuroscience, a three-year fellowship program aiming to bring fresh perspectives from diverse technical backgrounds to the field of neuroscience. The program is co-hosted by the Allen Institute and the University of Washington, through the Computational Neuroscience Center. It is directed by Dr. Christof Koch at the Allen Institute and Dr. Adrienne Fairhall at UW. Fellows choose a co-mentor from each of the two institutions and will be employed by the Allen Institute as a Scientist (salary starting at $106,780 annually), with an affiliate postdoctoral appointment at UW. Accepted fellows propose their own research project(s), with access to the Allen Institute's wealth of structural, genomic, and functional data collected over the past 15 years (brain-map.org<https://brain-map.org>). The Brain Networks Research and Development Group at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences (MPI CBS) in Leipzig, Germany, lead by Professor Thomas Knösche offers a PhD position for 3 years. The project is dedicated to elucidating the role of long-range brain connectivity in human language processing and will involve EEG and MRI experiments as well as realistic modeling of biological neural networks. It is a cooperation between the TU Berlin, the TU Chemnitz, the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the MPI-CBS, funded by the DFG. Candidates should hold a master (or equivalent) degree and have a background in engineering, computer science, neuroscience, physics, or similar, as well as a keen interest in neuroscience. Good computer programming skills (e.g., C++, Matlab, Python) are necessary. Some experience in EEG or MEG experimenting and data analysis would be beneficial, though not strictly required. Skills or interest in MRI processing (especially diffusion MRI), biophysical neural modeling, and machine learning are welcome. The Institute offers a world-leading research environment with outstanding facilities and research infrastructure (five MR scanners, including a 3T Connectom and 7T Terra.X; MEG; EEG TMS). The Brain Networks group is dedicated to the development of methods to investigate, model, and understand brain networks and how they give rise to human behavior and cognition. Traditional computational models perform well in artificial tasks but struggle to generalize to real-life ecological situations. In contrast, new deep learning models excel at processing real-world information and demonstrate cognitive abilities close to those of humans. However, these models are trained on impractically large datasets and use training protocols that are not cognitively feasible, which limits their ability to explain or predict human learning and cognitive development. This project aims to develop the first cognitively feasible learning agents—AI systems that learn language and cognition within constraints that mimic human development. Leveraging a unique dataset (the 1kD corpus)— continuous daily audio-visual recordings from 18 children’s first 1,000 days of life—we will train models directly on the ecologically valid, socially embedded experiences that shape children’s growth. Unlike large-scale industrial models, which depend on vast impersonal datasets, our approach emphasizes individual-centered, real-world input that captures the long-tail variability of human development. By replicating learning trajectories across multiple households, we will establish the first mechanistic framework for how natural input shapes children’s cognition. The project represents a bold shift from analyzing existing models to building new brain-inspired learning agents, directly addressing ecological validity and laying the foundation for a new generation of cognitive science. Short Bio: Uri Hasson grew up in Jerusalem. He studied philosophy and cognitive sciences at the Hebrew University as an undergrad. He completed his Ph.D. in Neurobiology at the Weizmann Institute in Israel and was a postdoctoral fellow at NYU before moving to Princeton. He is currently a Professor in the Psychology Department and the Neuroscience Institute at Princeton University. His research program aims to understand the neural basis of face-to-face, brain-to-brain, communication in real-world contexts, using big ECoG data and deep language models. A PhD position on multiscale theory and simulation of human language processing is available in the group of Prof. Tilo Schwalger at the Technical University Berlin and the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience Berlin (https://page.math.tu-berlin.de/~schwalge) Germany. The position is offered in the context of the project The Role of Long-Range Brain Connectivity in Human Language Processing (ConnLingua), a collaboration between the Technical University Berlin, the Max-Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences (Leipzig), the Technical University Chemnitz, and the Czech Acedemy of Science (Prague). We will use spiking neural network models for cortical microcircuits, models of white-matter connectivity as well as advanced mean-field methods and human MEG data to develop a whole-brain model that elucidates the neural mechanisms of syntactic language operations. The candidate should have a background in physics, mathematics, computer science, or computational neuroscience. Excellent analytical and programming skills as well as a keen interest in mathematical modeling are required. In addition, expertise in stochastic nonlinear dynamics is desirable. Development of high-precision eye-tracking technology for closed-eye conditions using machine learning and deep neural networks (DNNs). 2. Reconstruction of visual imagery (and potentially dreams) from non-invasive neuroimaging techniques (fMRI/MEG), combined with machine learning-based eye-tracking technology. The research offers promising applications in both academic and industrial contexts. This position is for an initial term of 24 months, with the possibility of renewal pending available funding. We seek a postdoctoral fellow with strong interests and a solid background in brain decoding and the application of machine learning methods in neuroscience. The eye-movement project (approximately 60-70% workload) involves training neural networks to map Electrooculography (EoG) signals onto concurrently recorded eye-tracking data. This approach aims to significantly enhance EoG precision and enable accurate eye-tracking even with eyes closed. This project is funded by an ERC Proof of Concept (PoC) grant. The brain decoding project (approximately 30-40% workload) utilizes deep neural networks and diffusion models to decode visual information from neuroimaging data and generate images (pictures, short video) directly from brain activity. Our ultimate aim is to apply this technology to internally generated mental contents, including visual imagery, dreams, and lucid dreaming. The Shocklab, picoPET, and SoLow research groups at the University of Cape Town (UCT) invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in AI for low-cost medical imaging. The fellowship advances research at the intersection of artificial intelligence, image reconstruction, and multimodal neuroimaging, with applications to global health and diagnostic equity in low-resource settings. Call for Applications The successful fellow will be jointly hosted by the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, the picoPET group in the Department of Physics, and the SoLow group in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and will conduct research on AI-based PET/MRI reconstruction, PET–MRI fusion, and advanced image analysis techniques. Conditions of Award (General) • Applicants must have achieved a doctoral degree within the past five (5) years. • Applicants may not previously have held full-time, permanent professional or comprehensive academic posts. • The successful incumbent will be required to comply with UCT’s approved policies, procedures, and practices for postdoctoral fellows. • No benefits or allowances are included other than those stated under Value and Tenure. • Postdoctoral fellows may undertake up to 12 hours per week of remunerated employment outside the fellowship for professional development; such remuneration is taxable and processed via UCT HR. Project Description The fellow will lead research at the interface of AI and low-cost imaging hardware, including: • Design of AI-based PET and MRI reconstruction algorithms optimized for signal recovery, clinical interpretability, and efficiency. • Validation on simulated and experimental data, benchmarking against MLEM, OSEM, and FBP using PSNR/SSIM or related metrics. • Development of PET–MRI image fusion pipelines combining picoPET and SoLow data. • Evaluation of the diagnostic utility of fused images through expert review or pilot clinical studies. • Exploration of advanced techniques (e.g., end-to-end multimodal models, latent-space regularization, attention mechanisms, diffusion-based denoising, super-resolution). The long-term aim is to demonstrate that AI can enable high-quality medical imaging in low-resource settings using affordable hardware. To Spike or Not to Spike: A neural network model of how neurons communicate

Dear Comp-Neuro colleagues, I am writing to announce the publication of my new article that describes psychological and neurobiological properties of neural network models that are composed of spiking neurons. The article is: Grossberg, S. (2025). Spiking neural network models of neurons and networks for perception, learning, cognition, and navigation: A review. Brain Sciences, 15(8), 870. https://www.mdpi.com/2076-3425/15/8/870 The Abstract of the article summarizes some of its high points: This article reviews and synthesizes highlights of the history of neural models of rate-based and spiking neural networks. It explains that theoretical and experimental results about how all rate-based neural network models, whose cells obey the membrane equations of neurophysiology, also called shunting laws, can be converted into spiking neural network models without any loss of explanatory power, and often with gains in explanatory power. These results are relevant to all the main brain processes, including individual neurons and networks for perception, learning, cognition, and navigation. The results build upon the hypothesis that the functional units of brain processes are spatial patterns of cell activities, or short-term-memory (STM) traces, and spatial patterns of learned adaptive weights, or long-term-memory (LTM) patterns. It is also shown how spatial patterns that are learned by spiking neurons during childhood can be preserved even as the child’s brain grows and deforms while it develops towards adulthood. Indeed, this property of spatiotemporal self-similarity may be one of the most powerful properties that individual spiking neurons contribute to the development of large-scale neural networks and architectures throughout life. The Department of Psychology and the Princeton Neuroscience Institute at Princeton University invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of human cognitive neuroscience to be hired jointly in Neuroscience and Psychology. We seek a faculty member with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring. Relevant research approaches include, but are not limited to, computational, clinical, and neuroimaging research. Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, or a related discipline. The successful applicant will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in Psychology and Neuroscience, and to establish an active, internationally-recognized research program. To support their research, the successful applicant will have access to the Scully Center for the Neuroscience of Mind and Behavior, which operates a suite of facilities to study the human brain including two 3T Siemens MR scanners, OPM-MEG, EEG, eye tracking, and TMS laboratories. They will also have access to Princeton's world-class computational infrastructure, including GPU systems capable of running large-scale AI workflows.
