(Apologies for cross-posting) The newly established W3 professorship “Computational Psychiatry” at the Dept. of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, University Tübingen is offering a position for a Lab Manager (m/f/d; 50-100%, 1+ years) starting in January 2023 or at earliest convenience. The position is initially limited to 1 year with the possibility of a further extension. Background: The newly established W3 professorship “Computational Psychiatry” focuses on understanding the neural and computational mechanisms underlying psychiatric disorders, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, and predicting disorder trajectories using computational modelling, neuroimaging, pharmacology and smartphone-based data collection in clinical and non-clinical populations. This position is suited for aspiring researchers with an MSc in psychology, cognitive science, or similar and is ideal for an ambitious person that wants to gain experience in cognitive neuroscience and computational psychiatry research. This position will allow the candidate to gain experience with conducting research with vulnerable populations and using cutting-edge computational psychiatry methods. *PhD student position in computational neuromechanical modeling * The Biorobotics laboratory (Biorob, https://www.epfl.ch/labs/biorob/) at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) has one open *PhD student position* in *computational neuromechanical modeling*. The position is part of the ERC Synergy Salamandra project that started in September 2021, together with Prof. Andras Simon (KI Sweden) and Prof. Dimitri Ryczko (U. Sherbrooke, Canada). The positions are fully funded for 4 years. Hi all, PhD and Postdoctoral positions are open in computational neurosciences at Bocconi University (Milan, Italy). Research topics include: how movement modulates neural responses to visual stimuli; integrating connectomes in mechanistic models of brain functions; building normative models of neural representations. Approaches from statistical physics, nonlinear dynamics and machine learning will be used, and models will be constrained by new electrophysiological and connectomic data. Prior experience with computational neuroscience is a plus, but it is not required. The successful applicant will have an outstanding record of research and teaching that contributes to the mission of the candidate’s appropriate home department and the Carney Institute Center for Computational Brain Science. The Carney Institute promotes discovery and innovation in brain science by supporting a diverse community of experimentalists, theorists, engineers, and clinicians. With more than 180 affiliated faculty members in more than 20 academic and clinical units, the Carney Institute catalyzes research across the brain sciences, including in the neurobiology of cells and circuits, computational brain science, cognition and behavior, and neuroengineering and neurotechnology.
