Dear colleagues, I’m writing you to share an opportunity for obtaining a postdoctoral position The Marie Curie Chair in Computational Neuroscience at the Institute of Cybernetics, Enterprise and Society (Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), led by Prof. Carmen Paz Suárez Araujo, is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position. This is a one-and-a-half-year, non-tenure-track position. Duties will involve research and supervision activities in the following areas: 1) neuro-AI; 2) determination of new functional biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other cortical dementias; and 3) intelligent decision systems for the diagnosis and prognosis of AD. The Marie Curie Chair is seeking outstanding candidates who have received a PhD in Computer Engineering, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Physics, or a related discipline. Titles obtained outside of Spain require validation or homologation certificates. Salary: €2,218.52 per month. The probable start date is 1 April 2026. This year, the virtual edition enables students to attend from afar by formal lectures via Zoom and informal and social communications via a Slack channel. Systems Vision Science combines computational, behavioral, and neuroscience methods to discover functions and algorithms for vision in various brain regions and their implementations in neural circuits. This summer school is designed for everyone interested in gaining a systems level understanding of biological vision. We plan a coherent, graduate-level, syllabus on the integration of experimental data with theory and models. The school will provide an overview of theoretical and experimental frameworks used to study a variety of *decision making* processes. It will cover different model systems from rodents to humans and a plethora of decision making mechanisms. Can we reconstruct images that a person saw, directly from their fMRI brain recordings? 2. Can we reconstruct the training data that a deep-network trained on, directly from the parameters of the network? The answer to both of these intriguing questions is “Yes!” In this talk I will present some of our work in both domains. I will then show how combining the power of Brains & Machines can lead to significant breakthroughs in both areas, and potentially bridge the gap between Minds and Machines.
