EITN Fall School in Computational Neuroscience : Applications extended to 25 July 2021

Dear colleagues, We are happy to let you know that the application deadline for the *EITN Fall School in Computational Neuroscience* has been extended to the *25th of July 2021*. This *10-days intensive course in computational neuroscience* will take place in *P**aris, France from 15 to 24 September 2021*. This is a yearly event, although previous occurrences took place in the spring. We choose to keep it relatively small-scale in order to facilitate interactions between participants and teaching staff, there are about 20 seats available. There will, therefore, be a selection made after applications are closed. Dear colleagues, we have an open DFG-funded position for 3+2 years for the development of data infrastructure including storage, streaming and analysis tools for reproducible science based on the BIDS standard at our Neuroimaging Unit at University of Oldenburg, Germany. Best regards, Jochem The Neuroimaging Unit and the Applied Cognitive Neuropsychology Lab at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Oldenburg is seeking to fill the position of a *Scientific Software Engineer or Data Scientist (m/f/d)* *(Salary level E13 TVL, 100%)* ** for the development of open and reproducible neuroscience tools and processing pipelines*.* The position is embedded in a DFG Core Facility grant and is available*as soon as possible**until 30^th of September 2023 (with the possibility to extend another 2,5 years after successful evaluation and extension of the project)*. The position is suitable for part-time work. The Neuroimaging Unit hosts a state-of-the-art MEG (Elekta Triux) and an MRI (Siemens Prisma 3T) and is embedded in an excellent interdisciplinary scientific environment with a strong research focus on neurosensory, neurocognitive, and medical research. The successful candidate is expected to actively perform research on and contribute to the implementation of a standardized neuroscience data acquisition, reproducible analysis pipelines and data storage for open science building on the BIDS standard. He/she should further contribute to community efforts and dissemination. Candidates should have a strong motivation to contribute to the community of developers open science tools. The development can include scientific projects, as long as they fit into the research focus of the lab (machine learning in cognitive neuroscience, speech processeing, and human state monitoring) but tool and processing pipeline development comprises the main part of the position. Candidates are expected to have an academic university degree (Master or equivalent) in the field of informatics, engineering, neuroscience or psychology and have shown their ability to perform excellent scientific work, demonstrated by an excellent publication record. Prior experience with the BIDS standard as well as its programming, experience with neuroimaging techniques and data analysis (especially fMRI or MEG/EEG) and fluency in English is required. Experience with open science tools and databases, other neurophysiological modalities, as well as knowledge of German are desirable. Modeller’s Workshop for the Brain Dynamics Toolbox Online Course. Enrolments open 1-18 July 2021. This is a self-paced online course for researchers and students who wish to program their own dynamical models using the Brain Dynamics Toolbox (bdtoolbox.org<https://bdtoolbox.org/>). Participants learn the art of programming differential equations to simulate neuronal dynamics. Topics include programming Ordinary Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, Delay Differential Equations, Stochastic Differential Equations, Auxiliary Plot Functions and command-line tools.
