The successful candidate will use computational models to investigate fundamental questions related to psychology, neuroscience, and/or behaviour. Applications from any area that applies computational modelling to understand neural function or behaviour are welcome. Applications from early-career candidates are especially encouraged. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, big data analytics and machine learning applied to neural or behavioural data, computational models of reward and motivation, computational models of learning and memory, computational models of social interactions, and computational models of spatial navigation. The candidate could apply models to any level of analysis, from neurons to circuits to systems to populations. The Department of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour has long-standing strengths in cognitive and computational neuroscience, sensory systems and behavioural neuroscience, perception, cognition, development, evolutionary psychology, and animal behaviour. PhD and post-doctoral positions in computational neuroscience and speech production, University of Geneva, Switzerland

One PhD and one postdoctoral positions are available under the supervision of Timothée Proix (https://timothee.proix.ch) in the Auditory Language Group led by Prof. Anne-Lise Giraud (https://neurocenter-unige.ch/research-groups/anne-lise-giraud) at the University of Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland. The project aims at developing a large-scale model of speech production using intracranial EEG data, and lies at the interface between data analysis, dynamical systems modeling, and machine learning. *Postdoctoral position. *The candidate will contribute to acquisition and analysis of intracranial EEG data and speech recordings. Applicants should have solid bases in maths/physics/bioengineering, prior experience in electrophysiological recordings and data analysis, as well as programming and machine learning skills. *P**hD** position. *The candidate will develop theoretical tools using dynamical systems theory to model neural activity during speech production. Applicants should hold a master degree in maths/physics/informatics/engineering. Previous experience in dynamical systems modeling, neuroscience, and programming will be valued. The research will be performed at the campus Biotech in the university of Geneva, a vibrant and stimulating environment for neuroscience research. The positions are funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, and salaries are in compliance with their guidelines. The ideal start is early 2021, with some flexibility. Modeller’s Workshop for the Brain Dynamics Toolbox Online Course Nov 1-21, 2020 The Brain Dynamics Toolbox is an open toolbox for simulating dynamical systems in neuroscience. This is a self-paced course is for researchers, students and instructors who wish to use the toolbox to build their own dynamical models. Participants learn the art of programming differential equations in Matlab and how to use the toolbox to solve those equations interactively. Topics include programming Ordinary Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, Delay Differential Equations, Stochastic Differential Equations, Auxiliary Plot Functions and command-line tools.
