Dear all, Dr. Sha’s lab (https://shazhiqiang.wixsite.com/sha-lab) at the University of South Carolina is seeking *a full-time Research Assistant (computation-focused)*. Our lab is affiliated with the Carolina Autism & Neurodevelopment Center, the Institute for Mind & Brain, and working closely with the McCausland Center for Brain Imaging in Columbia, the center of SC Metropolitan Statistical Area. Our lab explores the mechanisms of atypical brain development and neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorders) by leveraging computation modeling to bridge neural circuitry, exposure (e.g., early life adversity) and psychopathological phenotypes, and treatment outcomes. These innovative projects will leverage state-of-the-art computational models and deep learning algorithms, supported by the Brain Imaging Center (with 3T and high-field 7T MRI scanners) and the Biobehavioral Research Center. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated student to gain hands-on experience with neuroimaging (e.g., MRI) and computational modeling (e.g., deep learning models), making it ideal preparation for a future graduate or medical career. Research Assistant will be actively involved in the scientific process and are encouraged to contribute meaningfully to publications. We fully support assistants in leading first-author research projects and presenting their work at international conferences. Postdoctoral position in Development and Egocentric Vision. The Training Program in Integrative Developmental Processes at Indiana University invites applications for a T32-funded postdoctoral fellowship in Bloomington, Indiana. We seek highly motivated individuals interested in research at the intersection of development, vision science, and computer vision. The postdoctoral fellow will join a collaborative research environment dedicated to understanding developmental processes through egocentric vision in natural tasks, using advanced computational methods and multimodal datasets to advance developmental theory. The position will be jointly mentored by Dr. Rowan Candy, whose research integrates behavioral, optical, and neuroscientific approaches to study typical and atypical visual development; and Dr. Kathryn Bonnen, a computational neuroscientist specializing in visuomotor coordination in natural tasks. This is a one-and-a-half-year, non-tenure-track position. Duties will involve research and supervision activities in the following areas: 1) neuro-AI; 2) determination of new functional biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other cortical dementias; and 3) intelligent decision systems for the diagnosis and prognosis of AD. The Marie Curie Chair is seeking outstanding candidates who have received a PhD in Computer Engineering, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Physics, or a related discipline. Titles obtained outside of Spain require validation or homologation certificates. Salary: €2,218.52 per month. The probable start date is 1 April 2026. This year, the virtual edition enables students to attend from afar by formal lectures via Zoom and informal and social communications via a Slack channel. Systems Vision Science combines computational, behavioral, and neuroscience methods to discover functions and algorithms for vision in various brain regions and their implementations in neural circuits. This summer school is designed for everyone interested in gaining a systems level understanding of biological vision. We plan a coherent, graduate-level, syllabus on the integration of experimental data with theory and models.
