Dear Colleagues, We are happy to announce that registration is now open for the 1st conference of the Italian Network for Computational Neuroscience (INCN '24) to be held in Rome at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Italian National Institute of Health, ISS) from September 23rd to 25th, 2024. INCN conference aims to establish a collaborative network for Italian computational and theoretical neuroscientists. Inspired by successful initiatives in Europe, it seeks to leverage national research efforts to create a thriving research environment, fostering collaboration, information exchange, and scientific advancement for both young researchers and the broader neuroscience community. The registration fee is 50 EUR and covers access to all conference sessions and materials, coffee breaks and light lunches. Dear Colleagues, A postdoctoral position in computational neuroscience with flexible start date is available in the lab of Dr. *Marcus Benna <https://biology.ucsd.edu/research/faculty/mbenna>* at the University of California, San Diego. Our research seeks to understand how neural information processing under noisy and resource-constrained conditions allows the brain to efficiently perform computational tasks and control relevant behaviors. *This position <https://biology.ucsd.edu/jobs/postdoc#Computational/Theoretical-Neuro>* will involve the analysis of neural activity data (calcium imaging or electrophysiology) collected by our collaborators, as well as theoretical modeling of learning and task performance in neural networks. *Our research group <https://bennalab.biosci.ucsd.edu/people/>* is part of the vibrant Department of Neurobiology at UCSD, which is highly collegial, and offers many opportunities for collaborations, both formal and informal. Postdoctoral trainees are encouraged to attend seminars and present their work at departmental events. Our group is located in Tata Hall and shares space with several experimental neuroscience laboratories. We offer a stimulating environment with opportunities to develop new research directions and supportive mentorship for individual career development. The applicant should hold a PhD in computational neuroscience, physics, applied math, computer science, data science, or a related field, preferably with a degree date no more than two years before the start date. Candidates should have a strong quantitative background, and programming skills would be highly desirable. Experience in computational modeling, machine learning and/or data analysis would be particularly beneficial. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. *Call for Papers* Conference website: https://conference.cs.cityu.edu.hk/icicip/ The 13th International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing (ICICIP2025) will be held in Muscat, Oman, February 6-11, 2025, following the successes of previous events. As the capital of Oman, Muscat is Oman's largest city with a population of over four million people and numerous tourist attractions. ICICIP2025 aims to provide a high-level international forum for scientists, engineers, and educators to present the state of the art of research and applications in related fields. The conference will feature plenary speeches given by world-renowned scholars, regular sessions with broad coverage, special sessions focusing on popular topics, and post-conference workshops/tutorials in the region. Prospective authors are invited to contribute high-quality papers to ICICIP2025. In addition, proposals for special sessions within the technical scopes of the symposium are solicited. Special sessions, to be organized by internationally recognized experts, aim to bring together researchers in special focused topics. Papers submitted for special sessions are to be peer-reviewed with the same criteria used for the contributed papers. Researchers interested in organizing special sessions are invited to submit formal proposals to ICICIP2025. A special session proposal should include the session title, a brief description of the scope and motivation, names, contact information, and brief biographical information on the organizers. Authors are invited to submit full-length papers (8 pages maximum) by the submission deadline through the online submission system. Potential organizers are also invited to enlist five or more papers with cohesive topics to form special sessions.
