Workshop: Structure and disorder: From random connections to functional circuits, July 10-12 2019, Göttingen
Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to draw your attention to the fourth edition of the workshop on advanced methods in theoretical neuroscience. The programme is intended for the exchange of new approaches and methods, and presentations that will spark new ideas for future developments. Please see the details below or at https://www.neuro-theory.org/ Best regards, Viola Priesemann, Rainer Engelken, Farzad Farkhooi and Jonathan Kadmon *Structure and disorder: From random connections to functional circuits* July 10-12, 2019, Göttingen (Tutorials: July 9th) https://www.neuro-theory.org/ This workshop will focus on the inherent difficulties of studying the underlying dynamics that guide the synaptic organization in neuronal circuits. The forum is intended for researchers to not only share results but also survey and discuss recent advances in methods and to pinpoint limitations of the existing theoretical tools. These exchanges will be complemented by poster presentations from students and postdocs. A day of tutorial sessions will be held prior to the main meeting, covering some of the background and methods discussed in the workshop. ** Confirmed speakers ** Yashar Ahmadian (Oregon) Nicolas Brunel (Duke) Carson C Chow (NIH) Carina Curto (Penn State) Julijana Gjorgjieva (MPI Brain, Frankfurt) Valerio Mante (University of Zurich) Francesca Mastrogiuseppe (UCL-Gatsby Unit) Raoul Martin Memmesheimer (Universität Bonn) Andreas Neef (Göttingen) Cengiz Pehlevan (Harvard) Kanaka Rajan (Mount Sinai) Maria V. Sanchez-Vives (Barcelona) Silvia Scarpetta (Salerno) Elad Schneidman (Weizmann Institute) Jordi Soriano (Barcelona) Tali Tishbi (Hebrew University) ** Registration ** Accepting application through April 30. Space is limited. Preference will be given to presenting authors (posters) and by order of application so early registration is encouraged. A small fee of 50 Euro (+ 20 Euros for tutorials) will be collected upon confirmation. Apply now <https://goo.gl/forms/JEJWuWO1wnutYwJh1> ** Tutorials ** The tutorials will be held prior to the main meeting on July 9, 2019. The tutorials aim to introduce some mathematical techniques relevant to the workshop talks. ** Poster submission/short talks ** Poster submissions are highly encouraged. Presenting authors will receive higher priority for acceptance. Some abstracts may be selected for short or full talks in the workshop.
