MRC Skills Development Fellowships at the University of Exeter
Dear Colleagues, The University of Exeter<http://www.exeter.ac.uk/> is delighted to be partnering with the Medical Research Council<https://mrc.ukri.org/> (MRC) to offer exceptional candidates the opportunity to hold a 3 year Skills Development Fellowship, commencing between November 2018 and March 2019. MRC Skills Development Fellowships are prestigious personal awards, aimed at exceptional early career researchers with a strong background in mathematical, statistical, computational or biophysical modelling and analysis, or for more advanced researchers from a biomedical or clinical background who are seeking to develop strong quantitative skills. The University of Exeter has a wide variety of opportunities to develop these quantitative skills in the context of neuroscience and neurology, endocrinology and metabolism, and primary care population and health services research. Successful applicants will be housed within the brand new £52M Living Systems Institute<https://www.exeter.ac.uk/livingsystems/> where they will be co-located with 8 other MRC Fellowship holders. They will receive 3 years of funding with substantial budgets for travel, skills development and consumables as determined by their project needs. As part of the Fellowship candidates will also have the opportunity to spend up to a year in an internationally leading second research centre. Additionally, candidates will receive a £5,000 career development budget from the University of Exeter.
