Fwd: Postdoctoral position in Computational Neuroscience of Social Decision-Making
A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Social Neuroscience Team, an innovative collaborative project between groups of Fred Wolf (Bernstein Centre for Computational Neuroscience and Campus Institute Dynamics of Biological Networks) and Alex Gail, Igor Kagan and Stefan Treue (Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory, German Primate Center, http://www.dpz.eu/cnl), in Goettingen, Germany. The focus of the research is on theoretical foundations, computational modeling and analysis of behavioral and neurophysiological signals underlying social decision-making in humans and nonhuman primates (e.g. https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/314500v4). The scientist will collaborate closely with the experimentalists, who work on elucidating the neural basis supporting primate interactions in dynamic sensorimotor settings. Further scientific exhange within the Leibniz ScienceCampus Primate Cognition (https://www.primate-cognition.eu) will ensure a broad interdisciplinary framework for networking and cooperation. Candidates with a Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science or Engineering, an excellent research record, and a drive to work independently and collaboratively to solve conceptual and computational challenges, are encouraged to apply. A strong quantitative and theoretical skillset is a must, prior experience in cognitive sciences or neuroscience, and a background in relevant modeling and analysis of behavioral or neurophysiological data are a plus. Please send applications (letter of interest, CV and the names and contact information of two referees), or request for additional information, to compneuro-postdoc@dpz.eu -- Dr. Igor Kagan Head of Decision and Awareness Group, German Primate Center (DPZ) Kellnerweg 4, Goettingen 37077, Germany http://www.dpz.eu/dag
