Postdoctoral position in Computational Neuroscience of Social Decision-Making
A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Social Neuroscience Team, Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory, German Primate Center, in Goettingen, Germany (www.dpz.eu/cnl). The project is a collaboration between groups of Alex Gail, Igor Kagan and Stefan Treue (German Primate Center) and Fred Wolf (Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience and Campus Institute Dynamics of Biological Networks, www.uni-goettingen.de/en/58058.html). The focus of the research is on innovative game theoretical approaches, computational modeling and analysis of behavioral and neurophysiological signals underlying interactive social decision-making in humans and nonhuman primates (e.g. Unakafov et al. 2020, PLoS Comp Biol, https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pcbi.1007588; and Moeller et al. https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.03.13.983551v3). The postdoctoral scientist will collaborate closely with the experimentalists, who work on elucidating the neural basis supporting primate interactions in dynamic sensorimotor settings. Further scientific exchange within the Leibniz ScienceCampus Primate Cognition (www.primate-cognition.eu) and the recently established Collaborative Research Center “Cognition of Interaction” (www.sfb1528.uni-goettingen.de) will ensure a broad interdisciplinary framework for networking and cooperation. Candidates with a Ph.D. in Computational or Systems Neuroscience, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science or Engineering, an excellent research record, and a drive to work independently and collaboratively to solve conceptual and computational challenges, are encouraged to apply. A strong quantitative and theoretical skillset is a must, prior experience in cognitive sciences or neuroscience, and a background in relevant modeling, social interactions, or analysis of behavioral or neurophysiological data are a plus. Please send applications (letter of interest, CV and the names and contact information of two referees), or request for additional information, to Igor Kagan (ikagan@dpz.eu). -- Dr. Igor Kagan Head of Decision and Awareness Group, German Primate Center (DPZ) Kellnerweg 4, Goettingen 37077, Germany http://www.dpz.eu/dag https://dpz-eu.zoom.us/j/5510619772?pwd=eE5YbXE3aGJzc2ErUWFMaTRmQkYxZz09
