Open doctoral position: sound processing, Institute of Neuroinformatics, Zurich, CH
Applications are invited for a doctoral student position to implement in software and hardware, computational methods for sound processing inspired by biological principles. The goal is to develop a robust real-time sound processing system which recognizes sounds and uses novel front-end sensor pre-processors such as the silicon cochlea. We are seeking a motivated student with a strong background in physics and / or computer science or electrical engineering. The position is available immediately for individuals with a degree in related fields. Other requirements: Programming knowledge of Matlab/JAVA, worked with DSPs/ FPGAs, comfortable with hardware. Salary is according to the guidelines of the Swiss National Science Foundation.
