Postdoc positions in Computational Neuroscience/Psychiatry
The lab of Dr. John Murray at Yale University (http://murraylab.yale.edu) invites applications for postdoctoral positions for research in computational neuroscience. Successful candidates are expected to play an active and independent role in one of our research areas. Our work focuses on understanding the mechanisms of neural dynamics and cognitive function. We also apply computational insights from models to advance the study of brain disorders such as schizophrenia, in a framework for Computational Psychiatry. Our group leverages theoretical and computational modeling of neural circuits, as well as analysis of neural data. We emphasize close collaboration with experimental laboratories using a variety of techniques. Lab members will benefit from the rich intellectual environment at Yale, with exposure to cutting-edge experimental neuroscience and quantitative approaches to biology, through venues such as the Swartz Program in Theoretical Neurobiology<https://medicine.yale.edu/neurobiology/swartz/>. Potential research topics include: — Cortical microcircuitry supporting cognitive computations, e.g. roles of interneurons — Dynamics and structure-function relationships in large-scale brain networks — Neural circuit dysfunction in psychiatric disorders — Neural data analysis, ranging from single-neuron recordings to human neuroimaging, in close collaboration with experimentalists Candidates with a Ph.D. in neuroscience or physical sciences, and with a strong background and interest in quantitative approaches to neurobiology or psychiatry, are especially encouraged to apply. Please email Dr. Murray (john.murray@yale.edu<mailto:john.murray@yale.edu>) with the following: (1) a CV, (2) a brief (less than 1 page) statement of research interests and how they may fit with those of the lab, and (3) contact information (email and phone) for three references. Informal inquiries are welcome. John D.
