Post-doctoral position in Systems Neuroscience at Yale
[Apologies for cross-posting] The Nandy lab <https://nandylab.org/> and the Jadi lab <https://www.jadilab.org/> in the Departments of Neuroscience & Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine has an opening for a Postdoctoral Associate, to investigate the neural mechanisms of perception and attention. Applicants with the following skills are particularly encouraged to apply: (a) research background in systems or computational neuroscience, (b) expertise in electrophysiology in behaving animals, and/or (c) highly quantitative data analytic skills (possibly including computational modelling). The candidate will carry out high-density multi-areal electrophysiological recordings while animals are engaged in attention-demanding visual tasks. The individual will be required to train animals, generate electrophysiological data, and perform advanced statistical data analyses and modelling in a highly collaborative research environment. The position is initially for a period of 1 year, with scope for multi-year renewal subject to satisfactory progress. Candidates will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Yale provides an outstanding environment for conducting successful and rigorous postdoctoral training toward obtaining an independent research position. The neuroscience community at Yale is highly active and involves interdisciplinary collaborations across multiple academic units including the Departments of Neuroscience, Psychology, Psychiatry, Computer Science, Statistics & Data Science, Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology and more. The Wu Tsai Institute, Kavli Institute for Neuroscience, and the Swartz Center for Theoretical Neurobiology provide excellent opportunities for training and cross-disciplinary dialog. Yale and our labs are highly committed to promoting diversity among its students, faculty, and staff. Women, person with disabilities, protected veterans, individuals from underrepresented minority groups are strongly encouraged to apply. Interested candidates should e-mail their applications to anirvan.nandy@yale.edu <mailto:anirvan.nandy@yale.edu>. The application should include: (1) CV; (2) a one-page description of research interests; (3) contact information for 3 referees. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anirvan Nandy, PhD Yale Orthwein Scholar for Vision Science Dept. of Neuroscience | Kavli Institute | Wu Tsai Institute Yale University https://nandylab.org <https://nandylab.org/>
