Postdoctoral Scholar Position in the Neuromorphic Machine Intelligence Lab, UC Irvine
A Postdoctoral Scholar position is available, contingent upon funding, in the field of Neuromorphic Engineering and Machine Learning within the Department of Cognitive Sciences at the University of California, Irvine. The research involves developing spiking neural network models of neural sampling and on-line learning for digital neuromorphic hardware. The applicant will work closely with neuromorphic engineers and computational neuroscientists. The applicant will be involved in various aspects of research involving neural modeling, machine learning, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. Requirements - The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Cognitive Sciences, Physics, Neuroscience, Computer Science, or Engineering and expertise in computational neuroscience and/or machine learning with strong programming skills. The candidate should have a working knowledge of spiking neural networks, synaptic plasticity and other neurobiological learning rules. Knowledge with the C/C++ and the CUDA programming environment on Linux and Windows systems is desirable and experience in deep learning is a plus. This position is full-time and includes benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.
