An NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Haber laboratory in the Basic Neuroscience Division at McLean Hospital, a Harvard Medical School affiliate. We are a seeking a highly motivated individual with interests in a multidisciplinary approach for understanding network interactions between emotions and cognition. The position includes implementation and development of combining image methods to precise anatomic mapping to: 1) understand networks of prefrontal cortex and basal ganglia that underlie motivation and decision making; 2) use this data to guide and interpret connectivity profiles in the human brain, and link the neurocircuits to functional networks, and 3) determine how abnormal connectivity profiles in obsessive compulsive disorder, addiction, and depression, are related to specific circuits. One goal of the laboratory is to identify specific network dysfunction in diseases and develop novel targets for brain stimulation. The successful applicant will join a vibrant and collaborative laboratory and scientific community at McLean Hospital. Candidates should have a PhD or MD/PhD in neuroscience or related discipline, with a strong computational background and a particular interest in neural circuits underlying cognitive and emotional networks.
