Postdoctoral position in computational neuroscience at Washington University in St. Louis A postdoctoral position is available at Washington University in St. Louis, USA, in the area of normative computational modeling of neural circuits. The position supports an ongoing BRAIN initiative funded project studying the mechanisms of working memory. The overall goal of the project is to synthesize explanatory and predictive computational models of how memory resources are fluidly allocated in the presence of unpredictable, ongoing memory demands. Modeling efforts are paired with ongoing experiments on spatial and object working memory, enabling refinement and validation of developed theory. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to participate in several other projects in the area of circuit modeling, neural coding theory and neural engineering. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in engineering, math, computer science, neuroscience or a related field. Relevant areas of prior experience include: dynamical systems, optimization, machine learning, information, control and network theories. Strong computational skills are essential. The position is open and available for a flexible start.
