2 fully funded PhD positions - Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences, Leipzig
Dear colleagues, I am advertising two PhD positions in computational neuroscience in my new group - both positions fully funded (3 years). Topics cover grid cells, retrosplenial cortex, head direction, subiculum, boundary coding etc. and cognitive maps more generally. The PhD candidates will build computational models at various levels of abstraction, and potentially conduct data analysis of behavioral experiments and/or single neuron recordings from animal experiments. One position is more focused on grid cells, while the other will focus on head direction and boundary coding (retrosplenial cortex and subiculum). The Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig also has a great scientific community with a lot of potential for collaborations. Please direct potential candidates to the ads: https://www.cbs.mpg.de/stellenmarkt/stellenangebote Reference: PhD 02/24 Reference: PhD 03/24 The intended starting dates are as early as possible. Applications will be considered until filled (i.e., as long as the advert is up). Site still under construction, but you can read more on the group here: https://www.cbs.mpg.de/psychology/neural-computation Best wishes, Andrej Bicanski -- Dr. Andrej Bicanski Neural Computation Group Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences Stephanstrasse 1a, 04103 Leipzig, Germany Email: bicanski@cbs.mpg.de Tel.: +49 (0)341 9940197
