Bio-inspired deep learning workshop
Hey everyone, We are pleased to announce a workshop on bio-inspired deep learning led by Dr. Angus Chadwick (link to his website can be seen here <https://homepages.inf.ed.ac.uk/achadwic/>) from the University of Edinburgh and funded by the support of the Joachim Herz Foundation. Accommodation, meals and venue are funded by the foundation and the participants only need to cover their travel cost. The workshop will take place from the 22nd to the 25th of April, 2025, near Mainz. This workshop will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to learn from one of the leading experts in the field and explore the intersection of mathematical modelling, machine learning, and data analysis to understand how the brain works. We believe this workshop will be of great interest to those interested in acquiring dimensionality reduction tools to analyze large-scale, time-varying systems. Biological insights as well as machine learning skills are key and therefore we would encourage applications from doctoral candidates/postdocs from both biological and computational fields. More information on the workshop and a link to the application can be found in the attached flyer (which can also be found here <https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/347ns89xrsrkypb5n6s7q/Workshop_Flyer.pdf?rlke...>). You can also directly access the application <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd_BDJdIJd8qLDDBCaCAMIStqit-FEKwE0kmnHH8VyuOTY-ww/viewform>here <https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd_BDJdIJd8qLDDBCaCAMIStqit-FEKwE0k...>. The deadline for the application is the 21st of February at 12:00 (CET). If you have any questions or are interested in attending this workshop, please do not hesitate to contact either Max at maximilianfeggl@gmail.com <mailto:maximilianfeggl@gmail.com>, Laura at bernaez.laura@gmail.com <mailto:bernaez.laura@gmail.coms> or Janko at petkojan@uni-bonn.de <mailto:petkojan@uni-bonn.de> I would also be grateful if you could forward this to anyone you think would be interested and advertise it in your institutions. We look forward to seeing you there! Sincerely, Laura, Max & Janko
