postdoctoral positions in brain-inspired computing at Sandia National Laboratories
**apologies for the multiple emails from Sandia – this is an advertisement for a separate postdoctoral position than the computational neuroscience postdoc that was advertised last week. I’m very excited to see the neuroscience community at Sandia grow - I think a number of persons on this list have appropriate backgrounds for either position and would encourage those persons to apply to both. Colleagues, We are seeking a Postdoctoral Appointee to join an interdisciplinary research program focused on state-of-the-art computational and mathematical approaches and applications for brain-inspired computing. The neural computing group includes researchers with expertise in machine learning, cognitive science, neuroscience, physics, engineering, mathematics, and data analytics. Current research topics of interest include developing neural models and novel adaptive machine learning algorithms, as well as applying machine learning to develop new neuromorphic computing approaches. Some information on Sandia's neural-inspired computing research can be found at http://neuroscience.sandia.gov/. To apply, visit http://www.sandia.gov/careers/ and click "View All Jobs". Enter "658203" into the search box to locate this posting. For questions please contact William Severa (wmsever@sandia.gov<mailto:wmsever@sandia.gov<mailto:wmsever@sandia.gov%3cmailto:wmsever@sandia.gov>>) or Craig Vineyard (cmviney@sandia.gov<mailto:cmviney@sandia.gov<mailto:cmviney@sandia.gov%3cmailto:cmviney@sandia.gov>>). Additionally, we also encourage potential applicants to consider several of Sandia's laboratory wide fellowships for recent PhD graduates, including the John von Neumann Fellowship (http://www.sandia.gov/careers/students_postdocs/fellowships/johnvonneumann_f...) in computational sciences and the inaugural Jill Hruby Fellowship (http://www.sandia.gov/careers/students_postdocs/fellowships/hruby_fellowship...). While an offer of employment is not contingent upon receiving one of these fellowships, a number of them do have deadlines in the coming months.
