[Meetings] Call for Panelists: The Opportunities and Challenges of ChatGPT in Brain-Machine Interface Workshop in IEEE BHI 2023
Call for Panelists: The Opportunities and Challenges of ChatGPT in Brain-Machine Interface Workshop in IEEE BHI 2023 Workshop Details: * Title: The Opportunities and Challenges of ChatGPT in Brain-Machine Interface Workshop * Date: October 15 (Sun), 2023 * Time: 2- 5 pm (EST) * Venue: Online: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEvdOqtpz0qHdRsTbc7P3cu8hoPYx4l61t... Onsite: WESLEY W. POSVAR HALL: 230 S Bouquet St, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, United States * Associated Event: IEEE-EMBS International Conference on Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI’23) Workshop Details: The rapid progression of brain-machine interface (BMI) technology has heralded a transformative era in human-machine interactions. The direct interface between the human brain and external devices, coupled with groundbreaking advancements in artificial intelligence, presents an exciting frontier of exploration and innovation. At the heart of this revolution lies ChatGPT, OpenAI's state-of-the-art language model, known for its prowess in natural language processing and generation. Our upcoming workshop aims to delve deep into the challenges and prospects surrounding the integration of ChatGPT (GPT3, GPT4-like models) into BMI systems: 1. Overcoming existing limitations such as low signal resolution, signal latency, and the complications surrounding invasive neural implants to develop an effective connection between brain and machine. 2. Adapting ChatGPT, GPT-like model or Generative AI to interpret and produce text that syncs flawlessly with a user's intentions while abiding by ethical and privacy mandates. Opportunities Awaiting: 1. Revolutionizing communication capabilities of BMIs by translating thoughts into text-based information, thereby refining the dynamics of human-machine interaction. 2. Exploiting ChatGPT's inherent natural language capabilities to usher in more intuitive and user-friendly BMI interfaces. This opens up vistas of possibilities for individuals with limited mobility to engage with the world around them. 3. Using ChatGPT as an interface between users and external systems, this bridge has the potential to transform the lives of those with disabilities, granting them unhindered access to technology, be it drafting emails, internet browsing, or maneuvering smart devices. 4. The recurrent engagement of users with ChatGPT offers prospects for crafting personalized and adaptable BMI systems, escalating user gratification and optimizing system outputs. Call for Panelists: We invite passionate researchers, experts, and enthusiasts in the field of BMI, artificial intelligence, and neurotechnology to join our panel discussion. Registered panelists will be given a platform for 5 minutes to spotlight their research and opportunities to utilize ChatGPT, or related Generative AI, LLM, to augment Brain activity decoding. We want to convene some of the most brilliant minds in the field, hoping to spark conversations that pave the way for future innovations. Let’s embrace this chance to contribute to a domain that has the potential to redefine the horizons of human-machine communication. Register now and be part of the dialogue that could redefine the future of BMIs and human-machine communication.
