Contact Alexander Ecker, ecker@cs.uni-goettingen.de == DETAILS == The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen invites applications for Full Professor (W2) for Data Science (f/m/d) The professorship will be part of the Campus Institute Data Science (CIDAS) and will contribute to its development. CIDAS is a central institution of the University of Göttingen that fosters collaboration with partners of the Göttingen Campus, including the University Medical Center, the Cluster of Excellence “Multiscale Bioimaging,” several Max Planck Institutes, the Leibniz Institute for Primate Research, the Academy of Sciences and the German Aerospace Center Göttingen. The future position holder should have expertise in Data Science that complements the existing expertise at the institute. One of the following research areas is preferred: - Reinforcement learning - Virtual reality, augmented reality and digital avatars - Natural language processing - Human computer interaction - Causal models and inference - Time series modeling - Multimodal data integration and model building - Sensor-based information processing on programmable digital electronics - Image analysis and computer vision - Computational and simulation science - Visualization The candidate should have a track record of internationally competitive high-quality research, a high potential for groundbreaking research in internationally visible projects along with profound experience in supervising students. Strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration with partners at the Göttingen Campus from disciplines such as biology, medicine, neural and behavioral sciences, digital humanities, social sciences, physics, economics, geosciences, forestry and agricultural sciences is expected. The candidate is expected to engage in undergraduate teaching in the faculty's computer science and data science programs. The University of Göttingen emphasizes research-oriented teaching. The conditions for recruitment are specified in Section 25 of the Higher Education Law of Lower Saxony in the currently applicable version.
