The Institute for Medical Engineering and Medical Informatics at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland in Muttenz close to Basel is looking for applications for a PhD position in Neuroengineering in the filed of Deep Brain Stimulation The position is full-time (42h/week) and follows the salary level from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). The PhD position is part of a SNSF project and starts as soon as possible. The aim of the PhD is to develop a tool supporting neurosurgeons and neurologists in managing patients treated by deep brain stimulation. Candidates should be interested in deep brain stimulation, electric field simulations, image processing and stimulation atlas generation for Parkinson's Disease and other diseases. They should have a background in biomedical engineering, medical informatics, computer sciences or related fields.
