Dear All, Registration and abstract submission are now open! Brain States: Characterization and Neuromodulation by DBS November 11-13, 2015 in Cologne, Germany. Interdisciplinary contributions to the study of brain mechanics have greatly advanced our theories of the neurodynamic operations employed by the brain. Although the brain exhibits continuous ongoing activity, variation in the spatiotemporal patterns of activation observed across different brain regions during rest versus active processing provides valuable information about functional connectivity and strategies for information processing. This conference will explore the most up-to-date theories of normal brain function and how these processes may be altered to produce pathological states. Furthermore, it will explore the models and methods used to describe the proposed neural strategies subserving these different brain states. Our list of confirmed speakers include: Hagai Bergman (Hebrew University of Jerusalem) Peter Brown (University of Oxford) Stephan Chabardes (University Hospital Grenoble) Alain Destexhe (CNRS) Emad N. Eskandar (Massachusetts General Hospital-Harvard Medical School) John J. Foxe (Albert Einstein College of Medicine) Marc Goodfellow (University of Exeter) Anthony A. Grace (University of Pittsburgh) Rowshanak Hashemiyoon (University Hospital of Cologne) Jens Haueisen (Technische Universität Ilmenau) Viktor Jirsa (Aix-Marseille Université /CNRS) Jens Kuhn (University Hospital Cologne) Fernando Lopes da Silva (University of Amsterdam) Andres Lozano (University of Toronto) Cameron McIntyre (Case Western Reserve University) Christoph M. Michel (University of Geneva) Bart Nuttin (KU Leuven) Urs Ribary (Simon Fraser University) Günter Schiepek (Paracelsus Medical University) Wolf Singer (Max Planck Institute for Brain Research) Dimitri van de Ville (University of Geneva) Veerle Visser-Vandewalle (University Hospital of Cologne) Jürgen Voges (Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg) We are intentionally limiting attendance in order to ensure a collegial atmosphere with excellent discussion.
