Dear all, We are offering a two-year postdoc position to work within the Inria MathNeuro team <https://team.inria.fr/mathneuro/> (Sophia Antipolis, France) on Mean-field descriptions or thermodynamics limits of large populations of neurons. We are particularly interested to study multiple-time scale phenomena within this framework. The position is within the SP4 (Theory) of the HBP <https://www.humanbrainproject.eu/en/>. Candidates should have a background in mathematics or physics. Of particular to us are familiarity of the candidate with slow-fast dynamical systems, singular perturbation theory, bifurcation theory, probability theory, and a strong interest in applying these theories to neuroscience. Ability and willingness to do programming will also be a strong point to select candidates. They will be expected to interact with other participants of SP4 as well as with some participants of SP3. Interested candidates should send a CV and a short research proposal regarding the proposed topic (maximum one page) to one of the following address: mathieu.desroches@inria.fr <mailto:mathieu.desroches@inria.fr>, olivier.faugeras@inria.fr <mailto:olivier.faugeras@inria.fr>, romain.veltz@inria.fr <mailto:romain.veltz@inria.fr> Deadline for applying: 28 February 2018. Expected start date: 1st June 2018.
