The Research Training Group (RTG) 2271 “Expectation Maintenance vs. Change in the Context of Expectation Violations: Connecting Different Approaches” is funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG). The overarching goal of this RTG is to investigate why and when organisms (humans, animals) change or maintain generalized expectations in the face of disconfirming evidence. Fourteen doctoral students will be funded in each cohort (3 years per cohort). Vacant positions are advertised here: http://www.uni-marburg.de/fb04/forschung/phdprogram/index_html The dissertation projects in this RTG cover a range of topics related to expectation maintenance vs. expectation change in various contexts, including mathematical psychology, cognitive modeling, clinical psychology, educational psychology, social psychology, or biological psychology.
