*Opportunity for a research stay at the Cluster of Excellence Centre for Advanced Study of Collective Behavior* Call for Ph.D. students and postdocs interested in working on a short-term project, "Animal vocal source localization using machine learning," at Excellence Centre for Advanced Study of Collective Behavior at the University of Konstanz and the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior We are seeking talented and motivated Ph.D. students and postdocs to work on a machine learning solution that allows us to localize the position of animals vocalizing in the field, using acoustic information. We have openings for one Ph.D. student and one postdoc. The successful Ph.D. student and the postdoc will receive, respectively, a 6- month (1300 euros/month) and 9-month (2100 euros/month) fellowship to work in the state-of-the-art facility at the University of Konstanz and the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior together with leading scientists in the field. We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications: 1. Experience with advanced signal processing 2. Experience designing deep neural networks 3. Good programming skills in Python 4. The Ph.D. student has to be in the second year or later of the graduate school accredited by CAPES in Brazil 5. The successful Ph.D. candidate is required to obtain a written consent from her/his advisor 6. The postdoc candidate should provide a Ph.D. certificate 7.
