Postdoc opportunity at Stanford in Reward Processing and Reinforcement Learning (with application to TMS investigations and Transdiagnostic Imaging of Psychiatric Disorders) The Laboratory of Amit Etkin, MD PhD at Stanford University is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral research fellowship focused on reward processing and reinforcement learning using computational modeling and fMRI in healthy individuals and patients with a range of psychiatric disorders. The focus of this position is on understanding application of these methods to the study of emotional disorders, manipulation of relevant circuitry using TMS, and development of new approaches for understanding the mechanisms of emotion regulation in health and disease. The successful applicant will have a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, Psychology, Computer Science, Statistics or related fields. Experience with reward or reinforcement learning paradigms using fMRI or EEG, as well as computational modeling is strongly encouraged. Additional programming experience is a plus. A US Citizenship is also required. Duties will also include manuscript preparation, presentation of findings at conferences, management of research assistants and contribution to the preparation of grants. Laboratory and Stanford resources include research-dedicated 3T and 7T MRI scanners, concurrent TMS/fMRI setups and concurrent TMS/EEG setups. Salary commensurate with experience.
