Dear colleagues, Within the Neurocontrol section at the Department of Human Movement Sciences, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, we are looking for a PhD candidate on the topic of embodied decision-making. The candidate will work at the intersection between cognition and motor control. With clever experimental designs and a strong focus on EEG time series analysis, and neural and cognitive modelling, we aim to dig into the neural mechanisms of perceptual decision making. The 4-year project will be supervised by Dr. Bernadette van Wijk, Dr. Rob van Beers, and Prof. Jeroen Smeets. Requirements: - MSc degree in human movement sciences or a related field such as (cognitive or computational) neuroscience, psychology, or biomedical engineering - Affinity with the research topics motor control and perceptual decision-making - Prior experience with conducting behavioural experiments in human participants - Prior experience with time series analysis and statistical modelling - Comfortable with programming in Matlab and/or Python - Prior experience with conducting and analyzing EEG experiments is desired For more information and to apply, please see: https://workingat.vu.nl/ad/phd-position/d6jrlg PhD position: The neural mechanisms of Embodied decision-making - 4.
