Post-doctoral Researcher : Thalamocortical circuit reconstruction and modeling The Hill Lab of the Centre for Brain Simulation in Geneva, Switzerland, led by Prof. Sean Hill, seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Post-doctoral Researcher Thalamocortical circuit reconstruction and modeling The selected candidate will report directly to the Neuroinformatics section manager. Specific responsibilities include: Gather and integrate data about thalamocortical circuitry from literature, whole brain and in vitro studies Leverage the Blue Brain infrastructure to build thalamocortical circuits and design, implement, analyze and explore novel in silico experiments on network structure, dynamical state regimes and network response properties Contribute to the on-going development, refinement and validation of data-driven unifying brain tissue models Interact with wet-lab to validate and confirm model predictions Interact with engineering teams on visualization, high performance computing and brain simulation portal integration of analyses Profile: PhD in neuroscience, computational neuroscience, physics or related field Expert in scientific computing (python, scipy, numpy, hdf5, gsl, Linux, etc.) Familiar with algorithmic/manual reconstruction of neuron morphologies A strong publication record Experience in supervision of students and teaching Strong team player and fluent English in speech and writing Excellent written and spoken English What we offer: An internationally visible and rising project in simulation-based research in neuroscience using supercomputers A young, dynamic, inter-disciplinary, and international working environment A modern working environment, based at the Biotech Campus in Geneva Secheron.
