2nd Baltic-Nordic Summer School on Neuroinformatics Special theme: Integration of Multimodal, Multiscale Data into Models Place: Tampere University of Technology, Tampere, Finland Time: June 10-13, 2014 http://www.cs.tut.fi/sgn/neuroinfo/index_files/summerschool.htm We invite graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and advanced researchers in neuroscience and related fields to participate in the 2nd Baltic-Nordic Summer School on Neuroinformatics, to be held at Tampere University of Technology, Tampere, Finland, on June 10-13, 2014. The Summer School is focused on computational modeling of brain functions at the cellular, network, and cognitive levels and on new emerging multiscale modeling techniques. Lectures also contain introductions to tools for multiscale modeling, databases, and sharing of data, as well as examples on how to do computational modeling of cognitive functions and neurological diseases. Venue: The summer school will be held in Tampere, the third largest city in Finland with over 200,000 inhabitants. Tampere is one of Finland’s fastest growing urban centers and, according to a survey, the most popular city to live and study in. Tampere is located in southern Finland 180 km north of Helsinki. The Summer school will be held at Tampere University of Technology, which has strong research tradition in natural sciences, engineering, and fields related to industry and business. Leading-edge fields include signal processing, optics and photonics, intelligent machines, biomodelling, and built environment. Important dates: - 9 March 2014: Application deadline - 17 March 2014: Acceptance notification - 10 - 13 June 2014: Summer school Faculty includes: Bruce Graham, University of Stirling, UK; Gaute Einevoll, Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Ås, Norway; Jeanette Hellgren Kotaleski, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden; Toomas Kirt, University of Tartu, Tartu, Estonia; Marja-Leena Linne, Tampere University of Technology, Tampere, Finland; Gediminas Lukšys, Basel University, Switzerland; Arnd Roth, University College London, UK; Ausra Saudargienė, Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas, Lithuania Practical arrangements: We will have a participation fee of 100 euros (guarantee of attendance; will be paid one month before the summer school).
