The work will be conducted in collaboration with experimentalists at Christophe Ribelayga's lab, University of Houston, TX, and clinicians at Steven Silverstein's lab, University of Rochester, NY.
The aim of this project is to test pathophysiological hypotheses in schizophrenia spectrum disorders and to identify novel therapeutic targets through physiologically realistic modelling of retinal signalling, used as a peripheral window into brain function. The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to computational modeling of retinal circuits and to hypothesis-driven analyses, including short research stays at our collaborating laboratory in the United States.
Start date : as soon as possible.
Contract duration : 2 years, with possible renewal of 1 year contingent on successful annual review of the programme.
Monthly gross salary : 2948 € (French salary scale)
Qualifications:
Prior experience with computational neuroscience is required, in particular with conductance-based models. Prior knowledge and practice in scientific computing, signal analysis or applied mathematics is preferred. A strong interest in retinal functioning and applications in Psychiatry is mandatory.
