PROFESSOR - Research Chair in the field of engineering and neuromorphic computing for Artificial Intelligence (AI)
As part of the call for proposals for a MEI / UdeS Research Chair, the Faculty of Engineering of Université de Sherbrooke is seeking candidates to fill a professorship in the field of engineering and neuromorphic computation for artificial intelligence (AI).
This is a regular full-time position. The recruited person will be attached to the department that best matches the candidate’s profile.
EXPERTISE
The expertise of the candidates must be related to the field of engineering and neuromorphic computation by neural networks with spikes (SNN) for the development of applications in artificial intelligence (AI) in fields such as cognition or the emulation of
neural structures, allowing AI to manage conflicting situations, uncertainty and ambiguity.
The main challenge is to integrate into algorithms and systems, the flexibility and ability of living beings to learn unstructured stimuli with equivalent energy efficiency from the brain.
Applicants must propose a promising and innovative research program of the highest quality allowing the transfer of knowledge while demonstrating interest and competency in teaching.
REGARDING THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING
