This position encourages students in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics (or Biophysics) or Computer Science to apply.


We are seeking students that are highly motivated to pursue a PhD project that interfaces several fields, including Neuroscience, Computer Science, Biophysics with the aim to screen new drugs against Alzheimer’s Disease. The project will employ advanced methods in computer science (e.g. machine learning, molecular simulations) and other advanced methods from mathematics and biophysics to develop drugs with high therapeutic efficacy against identified pathways in Alzheimer’s patients.


The project will be developed at BCAM (Basque Centre for Applied Mathematics) in Bilbao in collaboration with several centres in France, Canada and Singapore.



Candidate’s requirements:

- Should have completed an MSc.

- The following background knowledge are desirable

- Programming.

- Mathematics.

- Biophysics.
