This is an exciting opportunity to join the research team in the Precision Imaging Beacon of Excellence, which is driving the discovery and translation of new imaging tools which will transform non-invasive diagnosis, improve the outcomes for patients, and allow better evaluation of the success of medical interventions.
Our prestigious internal fellowship schemes are a fundamental part of the University of Nottingham’s Research Vision and support its aim to recruit the next generation of outstanding research leaders. We will be recruiting a diverse cohort of 100 Nottingham and Anne McLaren Research Fellows by the end of 2022, and as part of this we are particularly interested to recruit outstanding candidates to the Precision Imaging Beacon. Beacon fellows will be supported to develop an independent research career, whilst actively contributing to the aims of the Beacon Research Programme and are expected to become active members of the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre (SPMIC).
We support applicants with diverse career paths and backgrounds and also welcome applications from those wishing to work part-time in order to combine the fellowship with personal responsibilities.
Each fellowship offers:
- Three years independent funding, (nominal start date October 2019), to conduct research while based at the University of Nottingham.
- Extensive career development support, including participation in a mentoring scheme
- Competitive salary set on the Clinical Academic Salary Scale or Research and Teaching Staff Scales Level 5
- The linking of the Fellowship to an established academic post for scientists
- Research expenses totalling £75,000.
- Additional childcare costs of up to £5,000 per annum
- Relocation expenses of up to £1,500
- The opportunity to spend periods of time at University of Nottingham Campuses in China and Malaysia.
