A 12-month postdoctoral position, with the possibility of extension, is available at the Institute of Physics, Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), Brazil, under the supervision of Prof. Fernanda Selingardi Matias. The position is funded by the Brilhante Mente project (CNPq/MCTI/MMulheres Call No. 31/2023 – Girls in Exact Sciences, Engineering, and Computing) and is open to female researchers holding a PhD.

The position focuses on the development and application of methods from Statistical Physics, Information Theory, and Complex Systems to neuroscience data.

The researcher will have the opportunity to work at the interface between statistical physics, complex systems, computational neuroscience, and data analysis, contributing to the development of quantitative approaches for characterizing brain dynamics. The position also offers opportunities for interaction and collaboration with researchers working in neuroscience and computational neuroscience within UFAL and the broader Brazilian research community.

Qualifications: A female researcher holding a PhD in physics, neuroscience, computational neuroscience, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related quantitative field. Experience with data analysis, computational methods, statistical physics, information theory, neuroscience, or related areas is highly desirable. Candidates with experience in MEG/EEG analysis or electrophysiological data are particularly encouraged to apply.
