A Dear Colleague letter was released this weekend to announce a funding opportunity for growing convergence research at NSF.

The DCL is divided into four distinct sets of opportunities. Although the SBE research community may find something of interest in all four, it is really the fourth to which we would like to call special
attention: Work at the Human-Technology Frontier: Shaping the Future (HTF). The funding opportunity here includes Workshops and Research Coordination Networks (RCNs). Workshop proposals need to be received at NSF
by May 15. RCN proposals need to be received at NSF by June 1.
Note:
1. Very fast turnaround, with receipt dates of May 15 and June 1 for workshops and RCNs, respectively.
2. For the Human-Technology Frontier (HTF) opportunity, the importance of proposals focusing on key challenges and research imperatives of the nexus of humans, technology, and work. The goal here is
to help build research capacity for the HTF Big Idea.
3. The workshop mechanism is fully described in the PAPPG (conference proposals;
https://nsf.gov/publications/pub_summ.jsp?ods_key=nsf17001&org=NSF). The RCN concept and mechanism is described in NSF 15-527.
