Workshop on Markerless Animal Tracking
February 21, 2025, 9:00 – 17:00
Harnack Haus, Berlin

Description:
Tracking animals in the lab or the field is a rapidly evolving discipline. With the rise of advanced machine learning algorithms, new tracking methods are emerging almost daily. But how do you select the best algorithm for your needs? Can you achieve high-quality tracking without tagging or marking animals? Is it possible to track multiple animals simultaneously—and how can this be done in practice?
This one-day workshop provides hands-on experience with state-of-the-art markerless tracking techniques and their applications in studying animal behavior. Participants will gain practical insights into selecting the right methods for their research, along with guidance on effectively implementing these tools and techniques
