The Five Recommendations for FAIR Software aim to encourage the greater adoption of FAIR principles by providing a set of starting recommendations that researchers can use to improve the quality, reach, and reproducibility of their software. The recommendations were created by The Netherlands eScience Center and DANS, the Dutch national centre of expertise and repository for research data.

The Five Recommendations for FAIR Software were endorsed on November 30, 2021, after a public comment period and review by the INCF SBP committee.
