MAX PLANCK UCL CENTRE FOR COMPUTATIONAL PSYCHIATRY AND AGEING
At the Max Planck UCL Centre for Computational Psychiatry and Ageing Research, we are seeking multiple suitably qualified postdoctoral fellows for a new initiative with Telefónica Innovación Alpha.
The overarching goal is to exploit computational approaches to brain and behaviour to leverage insights into core deficits that underpin behavioural change and mental well-being. The postholder will be directly involved in tech-transfer of the research results
achieving an immediate real-world impact and improving mental health of the general population. Supervision will be provided by Ray Dolan, Steve Fleming, Tobias Hauser, Quentin Huys, and Robb Rutledge.
Applicants must have, or be close to obtaining, a PhD in neuroscience, psychology, or a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Physics). Expertise using computational approaches in the study of reinforcement learning and decision
making or expertise with machine learning techniques is essential, so is knowledge of theoretical and computational neuroscience in relation to learning and decision making. Experience in fMRI and/or MEG is desirable. Experience in smartphone-based data acquisition
and in collaborating with industry and start-ups and/or in supporting tech-transfer is desirable.
Positions are available as soon as possible and are funded for 2 years in the first instance. Starting salary on the UCL Grade 7 scale, £35,328 – £42,701 pa, inclusive of London Allowance, superannuable.
