If you enjoy neural data analysis, statistical modeling, MEA-based extracellular electrophysiology, spike sorting, and developing software tools used by neuroscientists around the world, we would love to hear from you.

MaxWell Biosystems develops high-density microelectrode array (HD-MEA) platforms for neuroscience research and drug discovery. Our technology combines custom CMOS sensors, FPGA-based acquisition hardware, and the MaxLab Live software platform to record, analyze, and visualize large-scale neural activity at high spatial resolution. As part of our interdisciplinary team, you will help develop the next generation of neural data analysis tools for our platform.

Your Mission:

- Develop and enhance robust pipelines for neural data analysis, including statistical analysis, spike sorting, and feature extraction
- Evaluate and integrate state-of-the-art methods from computational neuroscience, machine learning, and statistics
- Collaborate with neuroscientists and electrophysiologists to translate scientific challenges into practical software solutions
- Develop APIs and software tools that simplify large-scale electrophysiology data analysis
- Help shape the future of our analysis software by contributing your own ideas and technical expertise

Your Profile:

- Background in computational neuroscience, neuroengineering, or a related field
- Hands-on experience analyzing extracellular MEA recordings is required
- Experience with statistical analysis and modeling
- Strong understanding of neural spike data, extracellular electrophysiology, and neural signal processing
- Experience with spike sorting and neural data analysis tools (e.g. SpikeInterface, Kilosort, SpyKING CIRCUS, Phy) is a strong plus
- Strong programming skills in Python; experience with C++ is a plus
- Familiarity with Linux and scientific software development
- Enjoy writing clean, maintainable code
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Claude) is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary team

Why Join MaxWell Biosystems?

Join a multidisciplinary team of neuroscientists, software engineers, and hardware developers working on cutting-edge HD-MEA technology for neuroscience research and drug discovery. Your work will directly contribute to software tools used by researchers around the world to analyze large-scale neural recordings.
