Applications are sought from candidates interested in PhD research in Computer Science. Deadline for applications: 10th March 2019.

One particular area of interest is machine learning and computational intelligence. Interested applicants are encouraged to discuss project ideas first informally by email by contacting Professor Peter Andras (p.andras@keele.ac.uk).

Possible projects include:

·         machine learning applied to medical imaging data (e.g. x-ray, EEG, MRI), bioinformatics data (e.g. virus evolution) or astronomy data (e.g. exoplanet discovery and analysis);

·         machine learning synthesis of realistic scenarios and interactions in virtual worlds;

·         complexity and learnability analysis of deep learning architectures;

·         evolutionary learning of deep networks.
