Dear Colleagues,
Frontiers in Computational Neuroscience is running a Research Topic, “Simulating Developmental Neurobiology,” and invites submissions that advance computational modeling of neural development. This special issue, accessible to the global community, will gather multidisciplinary contributions.
Scope of Interest
We welcome original research articles, methodological papers, and concise reviews addressing, but not limited to, the following topics:
- Computational models of neurogenesis, migration, and differentiation.
- Multi-scale simulations linking molecular pathways to tissue dynamics.
- Activity-dependent plasticity and circuit formation in development.
- Integration of imaging, electrophysiology, and omics in modeling.
- Novel algorithms or tools for modeling developmental processes.
- Validation studies comparing models and empirical data.
The submission deadline is 29 January 2026.

- Select the appropriate article type (Original Research, Methods, or Review).
- Ensure that “Simulating Developmental Neurobiology” is chosen as the Research Topic during the submission process.
