We, the Natural Decision Making Group and the Embodied Decision Making Group, are joining forces within the CMC Unit to uncover the computational, biological, and ecological principles underlying adaptive decision-making. We combine computational methods from reinforcement learning, dynamical systems, and AI with analyses of neural and behavioral data to investigate how different species adapt their decisions to the dynamics of their natural environments, while accommodating their embodied constraints.
