Dear all,

We are pleased to announce a hands-on tutorial on Multiscale Modeling with MOOSE at CNS*2025!

Saturday, July 11, 2026, 09:00 AM - 12:00 ADT PM, Room : 505

The objective of this tutorial is to familiarize participants with MOOSE, the Multiscale Object-Oriented Simulation Environment (https://mooseneuro.org), a comprehensive simulation platform designed for computational modeling in neuroscience and systems biology.

In addition to tutorials on biophysical and biochemical models, we shall showcase new features of MOOSE, including JARDESIGNER, a web-based frontend for multiscale modeling. We will illustrate the use of JARDESIGNER and MOOSE to build and run spiking neuron models incorporating chemical signaling for neuromodulation and synaptic plasticity on spines.

Speakers:
Dr. Subhasis Ray, Prof. Upinder S. Bhalla, Dr. Bhanu Priya S

Schedule :
9:00 am - 10:10 am  Hands-on sessions with modelling and simulation in Jardesigner.
10:40 am - 12:00 pm Building single-neuron models to multiscale neuronal models using Python Scripting in MOOSE.

We will also present a poster titled "JARDESIGNER : Installation-free-in-browser modeling with signaling and conductances in multicompartment neurons" on July 14th, 2026 in Ballroom B2 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, ADT.
