There is a fully funded Phd or PostDoc level position available at the Institute of Neural Information Processing at Ulm University, Germany. At the institute we use a diverse set of methods to study the information processing principles underlying intelligent behavior in cognitive systems, including both biological and artificial systems. In particular, we are interested in systems that learn in open-ended environments and that use abstraction to solve novel problems through generalization and meta-learning.

The applicants should have a strong mathematical background, hold a degree in natural science, mathematics, economics, psychology, computer science, engineering or similar and have a keen interest in artificial and natural intelligence.

The positions are paid according to German tariff TVöD E13. Ulm University with its more than 10,000 students is Baden-Württemberg’s youngest university.
